Greetings ![]()
This is actually my first post right here, although ive been stalking here for years. I have accumulated multiple unique builds probably worth sharing over my roughly 1k hours played, but thats my most recent one and its getting quite successfull for the standards ive set myself.
My Goal was to be less reliant on lifesteal as a melee because fumbles completely destroy this source of sustain - or at least dont make it 100% reliable anymore.
Performance
Its able to completely facetank Ravager and Callagadra without Pharma. For Callagadra you only need to dodge through Sunders because he could oneshot you otherwise, thats about it - just stand in the tornados all the time if you desire ![]()
For SR, i didnt yet try how far it can go, but in SR30 i can pull a whole boss room at once. Probably wouldnt do that with Grava in the mix though ![]()
Pros
Extremely tanky because of
- Obscene amount of effective DA = 3924
(3005 Base + 425 through AW + 174 through SS + 55 through SOA + 95 through Widow + 170 through Rylok. Lets settle with 3699 as a worst case because these buffs will be up all the time. - Obscene health regeneration levels. This will vary because it depends on the exact amount of proccs active at once, but on average youll be running around with roughly 15k+ regen with spikes of up to 20k when the belt triggers as well.
- Multiple Circuit Breakers ( Turtle, Prismatic Diamond, Ghoul, Behemoth, Tree of Life ) which have a great uptime because of the usage of hourglass devotion
- Enhanced Max Resistances for quite a few ( 90% for bleed vit and acid, 83 for the others)
- Great HP Pool for a Spellbinder - 20,5k
- 24% Base Damage Absorption through Maivens.
- Decent Evasion levels ( 15% base + 30% through boots procc)
- Still way better Damage than what you would expect with this Devotion Map - although Option B - more to that later - provides way more of that.
- Great effective OA Levels (3650 with Arcane Will+Seal+Rylok)
Cons
- Veilkeeper Set was a pain to farm for me personally.
- So was the Conduit which took me about 40 crafts to even get the mod for SS, so i wouldnt even bother with getting a specific resistance here.
- Gets online rather late, although i did level this build from level 1 as Aether Dual Wield utilizing dual warden kriegs weapons and the aether casque & shoulders (which are a pain to farm as well)
The Build
Current Devotion Setup:
Offensive Devotion Setup (Variant B):
Stats without any proccs (not even mindwarp). Keep in Mind i still have a bloodied crystal in one of the rings here, so the true max hp is higher than shown here.
This Build here utilizes the final, “tanky” version of items and skills. It took me quite some time to come up with this particular devotion setup, and i did use StarNAV for that one because there were quite a few painstaking decisions to make if i wanted to include at the very least behemoth, tree of life, hourglass, widow and ghoul - mainly tree of life was painful, but i really needed that one because i needed sources of flat hp regeneration for the veilkeeper set to multiply.
This meant that i had to sacrifice spear of the heavens as well as revenant and imp. These 3 will be present in version B and up your damage significantly, especially the AoE clear is great with imp procc bound to siphon souls. Remember - Imp procc has no CD, which means that a single cast of Siphon Souls will fill the whole screen with aether proccs.
Leveling
Its a bit of a pain until you reach warden krieg, but when you farm 2 of his weapons with an aether lightning procc, youll be good to go until you reach malmouth to swap one of those out for one of the greateast damage increases youll find while leveling.
Youll also need to farm an aetherial casque in cronleys hideout which can require quite a few runs to make a single one drop.
Possible Changes
-
Aether Res overcap is low here. This can be changed most efficiently by using another augment for one of the rings ( the one from the cults which provides 70 DA as well as aether res but no aether damage). Or use a Spellscorched Plating instead of one of the Living Armors, add back another weapon augment with elemental resistance to compensate.
-
Mythical Band of the eternal haunt could be swapped to a Dread Lords Preserver Band of Mending for even more sustain. Or even better a Gollus Ring. You loose -10% aether res and the procc, but youll more than double your lifesteal and will have even more hp regeneration, roughly 3k more with all proccs active. This wouldnt require changing your resistance setup as well as vitality is already severely overcapped.
-
Kriegs Grip could also be swapped to a well rolled plagueguard grip. Although i think only a double rare with great mods is worth it here - and i have a few of them ,but none for an aether build.
-
The Conduit could also technically be swapped to a well rolled Kaisans. But ive found that even seemingly small -10% aether res make a HUGE difference.
