[1.2.1.6] Aether Upheaval Veilkeeper Regenerator - SR31+, All Celestials

Howdy,

Today in meme build reveals is this HP regen fiend, leveraging Veilkeeper and the incredible buffs to regen on this set. As well, it requires the Fleshwarped Carbine MI to provide further buffs to Arcane Will.

I kinda forgot about this toon while I was looking at other build ideas but it’s probably my best Upheaval build out of several (most are unfinished) because he is incredibly tanky due to regen reaching upwards of 9700. A great build if you enjoy facetanking everything just to feel something (you have to to get Arcane Will to proc!).

Somebody mentioned the Veilkeeper Upheaval mods in a separate thread which put my eye back on him, and proceeded to beat Mog. I then had to get my rep up with Ravager’s folk so I could beat him up too, which I did (of Flesh). It was the first time beating him so I had to figure out his moveset but once I understood his main heavy hitters it was pretty easy.

I’ll see what it’s like against Calla though I haven’t put much time in figuring his deal out either but I’ll give it a try because the HP regen gives you a great social safety net to fall back on and makes things a little less punishing. Oh and you have Ereoctes as well.

Upheaval was showing numbers 260000+ (against select mobs), idk it is hard to see exactly what the upper range was but a big weakness is the lack of RR (-60 res) and Upheavals general inconsistency. An OA around 3800 definitely helps.

Arcane Will gets a hilarious +5 sec duration, 12% TDM, 6% OA, 325% HP regen, 15% atk speed, and 10% phys res, on top of the skills 500 DA and 320% dmg. And that’s what memeing is all about.

EDIT:

Calla is fairly easy, you just need to kite a lot. Sometimes you’ll be hit with some big spikes but it’s mostly pretty breezy (first try), the biggest problem I found was clicking accurately.

Crate is wild, died 3 times before I was able to successfully maneuver through the arena. Died the same amount to the oversized maggots haha. Have to choose your spots to unload on Crate as it doesn’t have a ton of HP but you can easily get stuck in some nasty situations if you get too greedy with it xD

Nice, I had a previous version of this bookmarked (probably found on grimtools some time ago), now updating it.
Haven’t got to play it yet, but I have a sweet tooth for 2h ranged builds, and Aether is definitely among the favorite damage types.
Thanks for this one!

Upheaval is getting changed in v1.3, so now is the time to try it as dedicated build before it becomes a regular wps

What do I tell to the other two builds I’m already leveling and two more that I ripped at 100 before assembling them fully, with the promise to one day level them again?

Say you’ll bestow upon them a terrible visage, or perhaps a… box?

I have no idea what I’m doing btw.
I know I’m supposed to use leveling builds but for some reason I’m just built different (pun intended).
Random bullshit go, fake it till you make it!

P.S. At least now I’m smart enough to start with a mastery that has a DAR.
I once leveled a dual-pistol-elemental-cadence battlemage, and I started from Arcanist…

I never use leveling builds, just go with whatever I’m planning for endgame. Sometimes it sucks alot, sometimes it’s totally fine, good even. Depends on how easy it is to convert damage really.

For this toon I think I used Lucius’ Bladearm (2H melee) from Fort Ikon boss to level with. Or you can vendor the rifle from the hidden merchant in the Blood Grove. Upheaval needs a lot of OA so it helps to grab skills with passive OA and items with OA, prioritizing it over resists at your own risk xD

I like the plan! Good thing I’m playing HC

Oh, a fellow one! Finally another one of my kind!

Thanks for the suggestions though.
Figured the same about OA.
I’ll stick to 2h ranged though, because that’s what the build is about, hehe.

Hey, I’m finally at 100 and still alive.
Scraping by my shared stash to see if I already have some items for the build.

One thing I’m noticing that kinda bothers me (due to me not being a skilled builder): why the heck half the components are a temu ones?
I don’t doubt that the build is performative, but it just rubs me the wrong way when I see an antivenom salve (x2!!) and a POLISHED EMERALD in a full legendary (well, almost) build.

Sure I’m biased because the other builds I’ve played so far have required an industrial scale deforestation operation to be able to afford to spend dozens of ugdenblooms on all the spellscorched, titan, sacred and whatnot platings, runebound topazes etc.
But POLISHED EMERALDS, IN THIS ECONOMY?

Is there really no benefit in slotting in some more expensive components?

(Just to be extra clear, the intended tone is 100% confused and 0% critical).

can’t say why, but looking at sheet stats there’s very clearly a benefit to other comps there
Topaz fixes stun res, hp + da, as upheaval build that guzzles OA(until v1.3) could use wraith,
if the goal is regen it could use 2x corpse dust instead, also raises hp
antivenom in belt is kinda fine since regen build and needs the poison res, but could possiply swap to mark of mogdrogen and fix acid res on aug yielding more regen
“etc” variation.
Guessing it was used to fill in a perceived gap in attributes to fix physique requirement while not giving up cunning (cunning req is over, and oa loss is minimal/lesser than what using an OA comp would do, so could swap attributes to phys anyway)

xD

I don’t remember why I put a polished emerald in, I might have used a stat reset pot for some items and then found a different item so had to mend the gap. The build was collecting dust for months before I came back to it and I don’t think I changed much because I didn’t need to. And I’m not super worried about min-maxing. Antivenom is actually dope, gives acid res, flat armour, and regen all of which I like and need and desire

It’s not so much a build guide as much as a proof of build concept, so feel free to tool around!
