FOREWORD

While trying again to make the pet Warlock concept from PT work better , I started thinking about why I don’t like the Warlock as a class: huge damage, but low health, unstable-cooldown-based survivability, no resists. But then I saw this random message

And then it dawned on me. 3v3/5v5 flashbacks.

Low CD cold SoC isn’t a new idea, but I’ve always used them in pair with Trozan Sky Shard+weapon component before 1.2.1.6. The build’s concept is ridiculously simple: since I already deal massive damage, I just need more general survivability = HP to pull it off. And working on a pet build optimization helped me with that.

Thx @RSnoomak for making me think long and hard enough about Warlock in general.

THE BUILD

Updated: covered some mess with comps and augs. No changes in performance, just ~120 HP difference.

The only huge minus of the build - uncapped move speed. Like, for real. There’s no more +% move speed ANYWHERE, except craft bonus. And with only 1 move rune sometimes it becomes a real pain.

Trozan’s Skybreach Set + Vampiric Bonewall shield - core of the build. Full conversion for SoC, huge flat and % CDR. Supercharged prefix is mandatory

Pants

Bysmiel-Sect Legguards - Just a maximum HP boost+resist pants. Alternative: Aleksander’s Legguards. Anything + of Vitality. Best prefixes: Runecarved, Formidable, Ancient

Gloves

Emberguard Gauntlets - Runecarved, Formidable, Ancient of Celerity

Rings

Mythical Band of the Eternal Haunt - 10% RR and craft bonus

Mythical Starfire - + to Star Pact, sweet dmg proc. Somehow this ring performs better than the others. Alternatives: Ring of Anubar, Prime Ring of Morgoneth, Coven Sky Seal

Amulet

Mythical Soulcatcher - skill points, flat CDR+dmg to SoC

Medal, Belt

Rylok Mark - skill points, dmg to SoC. Reaper’s of Attack, Aggressive of the Gildam Arcanum, anything with OA+elemental/cold damage.

Chains of Ygraad - Aggressive of Amarasta’s Flurry

Craft bonuses: 1 with % stun resistance, the rest with %armor/% slow res, if you’re very unlucky with belt’s rolls/% move speed.

Just a question out of interest, how long did it take you to get a supercharged bonewall? :nerd_face:

Long enough to hate the entire zone. The very first version was with a lucky Chronomancer’s of Psyche shield.

The prefix is mandatory cuz it’s easier to manage your survivability and keep your damage high enough with it.

This doesn’t mean the build won’t work at all w/o this specific prefix (or any other). It will simply be less effective and durable, and may require changing augs/comps/gear.

Example:

1:13 Callagadra with random gear+DA augs. A lot of really close calls, cuz now we have a wider gap between the Chariot’s, Behemoth’s, and Arcane Will procs.

1:10 Ravager of Flesh with random gear+OA augs. Requires changing components in the rings to Soul Shard to compensate for his brutal energy leech. Previously, this was partly covered by an Arcane Will proc’s regeneration. I also forgot to overcap bleed res. :grin:

if it gets chronomancer prefix instead of supercharged can’t ele resist be shuffled on a comp and aug? :thinking:

Supercharged prefix also simply gives more damage.

oh yea for sure, optimal bis etc :sweat_smile:
but 2/16 prefix chances as option is def better than 1/slightly more wiggleroom for less hate farming, until FoA affix manipulation :grin:

Yeah fully agree a cdr prefix is mandatory. Now did like 80 runs with a shitload of bonewalls except the right ones, but maybe my expectations of getting it were a little optimistic :grimacing:
