[1.2.1.6] Christmas Full lightning eastern Trozan druid (celestial, SR36)

Hi,

From time to time I gave a try to a full “cold to lightning” trozan build. The results were always … clunky at best to say the least… but surprisingly enough this last iteration actually performs better than my current dual/cold build so I might as well share it  :gift: :santa:

Reaching over 100% conversion cold → lightning is achieved with :

So overall ranging between 84 - 126% → you need a bit of luck roll to reach 100%.
The magic happens with the Arcanum Electrollis “storm binding” skill buffing the overall lightning resist reduction with a whooping -18%. Making up for the loss of cdr and damage of the full trozan set.
The build is also trying to buff the DOT damage and duration to profit from the “frozen core” skill electrocution damage while stacking the maelstrom damage from the wind devils.

Finding the “of fallen sky” suffix on the shoulders is actually not too hard.
Same for the offhand, a rolderathis tome with the thunderstruck prefix is also relatively easy to farm.
It’s a health regen build, hence the Veilkeeper crest as medal. try to find one with high freeze resist as it’s one of the weakest resistance of the build.
The component and augments should be freely adapted to reach the resists cap.
If you have the ressources, craft the Trozan hat for freeze resist and get a high freeze resist veilkeeper crest to reach 70% (else Moosilauke fights might be a problem).

Devotions:
Scythe and Behemoth to sustain health regen .
Overall I went rather defensive with Turtle shell and Crab in addition of Chariot and Harp as I’m not the best pilot and like to feel safe. So there might be damage/offensive improvements to be found there.

Final thoughts:
While probably not the best trozan build on the market, it does melt through monsters very easily and is quite pleasant to use for SR 30-31. I also likes the fact its an eastern set trozan build (-: .

Also thx to mad_lee for the full cold trozan guide, my desperate attempts for a full lightning one birthed from it  .

merry grim christmas :santa: + i = :zantai:

Thanks for the shoutout!

Have you tried Storm Shepherd belt? Valuable +skills and good conversion. I’d say that having 80% Cold to Lightning will be enough here given you have a lot of native support to Cold.

I would also recommend to overcap resists properly: like Vitality should be overcapped by 40%, Chaos and Acid by 30%. And 4% hp augment might be more valuable than 16 DA/16 regen one.

Personally I always try to include Tempest in my Lightning builds especially Electrocute heavy builds - just too much value in that devotion.

:eyes: thx for the tips, will try!

why 40 overcap for vitality though?

Because it sometimes gets debuffed by that (even more if it’s cumulative debuffs)

I gave a try to:

  • Storm Shepherd : it felt a bit slower and it was a bit tricky to adapt the resist overcap
  • Arcanoweave Cord: same as above but even more complicated for the resists.
  • The Cataclysm set: worse DPS than before and felt very slugish

On the devotion side, I tried to fit the Tempest but I couldn’t find a path allowing to keep at least Turtle Shell or Crab . I always had to sacrifice both.
It felt slightly better damage wise but also way more glass-canon. SR 30-31 is still rather smooth if you stay careful but for SR 36-37 I didn’t manage a single deathless run over 15 attempts (but it might be due to my lack of piloting skill )

I adapted the overcap resist to the numbers you suggested (-: but I’ll keep the original gear and devo path for now as it felt better for me.

here you go.

Tempest, Crab, Turtle, Chariot, Behemoth, Widow, Ultos.
Jackal + Widow + Lotus as supporting devotions + Rhowan’s Crown for flat RR.
