[1.2.1.6.] ( S&B) Poison & acid Pyromancer ( My first build ever)

Intro:
So hello i am a new player that started playing a couple of months ago, and this is the first real character i have ever made.
Btw i do not care to much about formatting this monstrosity of a post, take it at your own risk.
As for the build idea it was simple. Just take a basic attack from the starting class that i have
-(which was demolitionist), and combo it with something else that is fun, or just strong (dreeg’s evil eye).
What i ended up with was this build. A pretty tanky and decent build for i would say only early ultimate content. Although i have not pushed this build to it’s limit so keep that in mind.
Since i just wanted something that can farm gear and respec later into something better.
Edit: If you have not read this on my other post, this build is not very fast or good for late, late game content and is pretty slow. It is just my first build i ever made without looking up guides, and thought i might share it.

The build itself is simple and just uses fire strike as a basic attack to trigger some other effects and pummel white mobs, and then dreeg’s evil eye as a mainly single target skill for rares.
So the playstyle is simple and very intuitive, but does require pressing a bit more buttons
( like 4~5 in total). Mainly the build has a quite a bit of supporting items and skills that you can combo off. Which is why there are quite a bit of active skills. As is usual also for pyromancer from what i saw. Never the less i enjoyed my time with the game and this build was not to bad to play around with.

So here is a picture from the in game menu ( keep in mind the dps is higher much higher but does not display properly)

Since this is the endgame version that i came up with i will leave the grim tools link for anyone interested - Pyromancer, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

But again keep in mind you can take the build even farter from this point by investing more into Dreeg’s evil eye with the Dreeg set, but i just did not feel like farming further and stopped here. Later if you gat the [Mythical Bramblevine] you can use that instead of the shield shown here. But again since this is not a optimized build you can do a lot of different things.

A few words on this endgame version that i use:

Set and items:
So as you can see i am using the [Daega’s set] for mainly the fire to acid conversion, and also because it has a nice buff if you have all 3 pieces. The weapon of choice can be anything with high %increased acid and poison damage (so just swords or daggers). So you can even use rare and double rare items that are high in %inc acid/poison damage. That is in fact what i did for the most part with this character on almost all pieces of gear. [Malediction] in your relic slot is a must.
Armor:
But for the armor do be sure to prioritize defense over offense especially. In ultimate as you are constantly face tanking everything this is even more important than in early game. other than that other pieces of gear are pretty simple just stuff that benefits you and is able to keep you alive for longer is usually better. Here the most important piece of geat is the [Meat shield] for survivability, but you can replace this with a well rolled rare shield with hp and regen.
Also the [tinkerer belt] you can replace with the [White lotus], just a decent cheap alternative to this belt because of the hp and regen that it has.
Although later on you will need some more dps stats on gear like medal, amulet, rings, pants, and so on.
Dps:
Over all speaking on the dps i do think it’s maybe on the lower end of things all together when all of the buffs, and devotion attacks are firing you are getting in the ball park of 170 k to 200k ish Max dps( -depending on the enemy you are fighting) . Low end is around 60k dps when you either don’t combo properly or are fighting a very tanky enemy.
Btw my offensive and defensive ability stats are quite low, but i did not find this to be an issue as much as i thought it would be. You don’t care about getting hit, and you only want to hit occasionally anyway since most of our damage comes from having big poison stacks on the enemy. So basically hitting once or twice every second or two is fine. Most white mobs die in one or two hits anyway so you only have to worry about the rares and the bosses. Which are also not a big problem since giant’s blood + high regen can carry you through most of them. However if you are having problems moving away and regening out of combat is an option also.
Buffs:
Pretty much just blood of dreeg and the summon familiar are your only buffs that you have to worry about, and press buttons for them, from time to time. Granted i did think about swaping from summon familiar entirely but for just 2 points it gives a nice health regen buff that does not hurt having.
Other things to take note of:
So basically on single target you do want to all of your attacks on including [scorpion strike] that is a travel skill. So you can get more poison damage over all. Also you do have to press the curse of frailty on single target as well. That is why i said this is a build with more buttons that you would usually see in arpg game, but this did not bother me, as i also did play other games that sometimes need more buttons.
The two [frozen hearths] on rings are pretty much i feel like mandatory on this build as you do not have any way of getting freeze or stun immunity. From what i know at least. Other that that everything else is your choice and you can do a lot of different combinations in this build i just found that investing into tankines, and hp was more my thing and that is what felt comfortable here.

Biggest downside:
Pretty much because your damage needs ramping you are quite slow. Some nemesis mobs and even normal bosses if you are not careful can outlast you, and destroy you if you do not time you regen cooldowns and back away when necessary. Also because we are using the familiar to boost our regen even higher when he is dead expect to be less tanky. However you still have about 2k ish base regen so for the most part you should be fine.
The one thing that can absolutely demolish you is dispel, it’s annoying, and i hate it. If you see a mob with dispel. Either run or try to kill it as fast as possible.

Outro:
So with this build i also leveled, but used a bit of a different setup but the main skills mostly stayed the same (maybe i will also post the leveling guide later).
Over all had fun. Nice build, stinks a ton, have fun.

The link to the leveling guide is here i actually made it lol -

Well anyway thanks for checking it out.

For acid pyromancer, it makes sense to do a RATA build with DEE and Grenado as main skills.

Something like this for a pretty easy to obtain from scatch setup Pyromancer, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

Or you can fully focus on Acid Fire Strike with this conduit Unique prefix - Item prefixes - Grim Dawn Item Database get more Attack Speed, flat damage, WPS procs (Seal of the Void components) etc. Melee builds’ damage snowballs to crazy levels if you do these things.

yeah one can “powershop” the blueprints for condiuts, then it is just a matter of craft and craft and craft…

Thx for the tip, but i am already doing a different build idea. However if i do anything similar will check this out.

good luck have fun
