Okay, so Trozan Sigil of Consumption is a thing now.
SoC (along with my dearest BWC) was buffed this patch, but not only that, Trozan set got 100% cold conversion now.
Add a Vampiric Bonewall and Mythical Soulcatcher and cooldown drops down to 0.4 seconds.
Finally, get Supercharged-prefix (or play Warlock) to drop it to 0.3, which is the minimum!

As with all lifesteal builds, you need lots of damage and OA as well as initial toughness to survive. Warlock would have thatr but it misses 43% RR and skills to put your devotions on.

So for Conjurer, you kinda need aggressive affixes to get to full potential, but I don’t think they’re needed for SR32, you have 370 DA shred in skills.

Videos:
SR36 (you need to play pretty carefully or just use tankiness pots)

SR32 (super chill, can facetank anything)

I’m probably gonna update this post if I can think something to optimize it further, but right now, I just wanna make the world know that this is a thing now!

Yes! I wanted to check out if this worked, but haven’t had the time. Definitely will make a build like this!

Yeah! It’s really funny to use SoC basically as an auto-attack and refreshing to see it in such bright blue color! Annoying part is that it totally obscures the SR portals to get to the next floor…

Definitely a fun build, but curious as to why you took Stormcaller’s pact over Possession considering it gives you damage absorption and two damage conversions in vit and chaos into cold. Asking since I saw that sr 36 you used stormcallers and it seemed Kurabara and Moonsaulke (if facing him) are the most dangerous.

It’s a fair point! Reason is the crit damage (huge), cold damage (multiple pieces without cold/elemental damage) and stun resist (inspiration proc doesn’t add any). You need them all. I didn’t intend this to run SR36, I just tried it out and turned out surprisingly well!

Possession doesn’t do anything to damage and you don’t need chaos resist. Absorption would be great, but with lots of defensive procs (turtle, tortoise, harp, prismatic diamond, tinkerer’s belt, serenity), it’s hard to actually get 1shot.

Edit:
Damage type conversions only apply to the “flat” damage of the skills, not “X% type damage” effects.
Sigil of Consumption is fully converted to cold, meaning it isn’t affected by “X% Vitality or Chaos Damage” effects, it now gets bigger numbers with “X% Cold or Elemental damage.”

It also doesn’t have any weapon damage, so it isn’t affected by flat Chaos Damage Possession grants.
If it would, it would be converted to Cold (as it would be applied flatly to skill, which converts it), but that isn’t the case here obviously.

Just noticed that you may have understood conversions wrong and clarified it! Hope it helps!

needs a couple gildam suffix items for even more sigil spam

I was rocking Cold Sigils Conjurer before you were born son (aka joined the forum) :stuck_out_tongue:

(Oct 2023). But then :zantai: did me a harm

You kids have it easy these days with full conversion and stuff

Seriously though, it’s nice you’re reviving it because Cold Sigils are beautiful and it’s nice to play Trozan Conjurer for a change instead Druid.

Try turning off post-processing in graphic options, it will help. I played some Winter King’s Might build recently and needed to turn off this option. Stacked Sigils will probably look like in my Calla vid above.

It was indeed one of the biggest things during this test patch.

Congrats on posting your first build here!

I would only suggest to find more casting speed and changing itemization a bit, maybe including Charriot in your devotions, using Eye of the Storm and some +skills belt and getting some trap resist for better qol.

EDIT: Actually meant to link this more relevant Sigils beast

Oh that’s so cool Trozan SoC has history! I tried browsing builds to see if there’s any Trozan SoC spammers recently and didn’t find any, but it makes sense you have one, I feel like you’ve done every cold-related thing lol.
(tbf, even the devotion layout was from your Chillwhisper DE, played it a lot last year and enjoyed its devotions tons)

Thanks for the tip on post-processing! Currently it’s just more funny than annoying to search for personal rifts, but in case I get fed up with it later!

Thanks for the suggestions! I initially thought about Chariot (probably my favorite devotion), but I just stuck with a devotion path of other build that has good stuff for channelers.

I feel like ditching Serenity and Tinkerer’s Belt for those suggestions would make this build explode way too easily. They’re obviously great ideas, but I feel like I’d need to think the whole equipment layout again.
Currently I’m happy with how this is, but maybe later! Or feel welcome to come up with and link something on your own, that’s totally welcome! I’d love to see!

That’s the thing, this thing needs tinkering. Like if you are selling defenses somewhere (Serenity for example) then you have to buy them somewhere else (get more hp/da/armor).

EDIT: But let me try to sketch it

EDIT 2: Conjurer, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

So here is my (rough) idea. Pump hp and armor, get casting speed to rotate stuff smoother, ditch Storm Totems for a Wendigo Totem (same amount of button pressing but this totem is actually useful), get some more cc with a boot proc and Hyrian and %rr reduction from an Ultos proc. Also a drop of leech from adtch from weapon damage procs.

Okay, that looks really great! Definitely will take a closer look and test out tomorrow.

Also, I can’t imagine why I picked Storm Totem instead of Wendigo… Probably because I played Ludrigan recently, but still… I’m dumb!

I believe Valinov was the first with Sigil spam but Warlock back in 2020. Those were different times

yeah, it’s my favorite damage type in arpgs

devo is nice for Crate and SR thanks to :crab::turtle: but worse for Callagadra (Chariot is better due to that fat armor bonus)

that DW Chillwhisper Reaper is somewhat outdated it seems, tankiness is not needed (and possible after Phys res changes) anymore because Cold DE powercrept so that you can just destroy Calla with standard off-hand dps build from what I’ve seen

Cooldown Cold PBs don’t have much sense either now probably when you can spam them without conversion penalty  Outdating my Cold builds seems to be :zantai: 's hobby.

Not saying it’s better when sustain is needed but Storm Totem should proc better due to bigger range. And way better if you put down a few them in a longer fight of course. Depends on what you’re doing / devotions to proc / gameplay if it matters obviously.

Unplayable for anyone with OCD / autism which is like 90% of GD community. Don’t discriminate bro. Make a neurodivergent variant. Although 21 / 12 mirror / palindrome symmetry is neat, I’ll give you that.

Okay, so I haven’t got all the pieces ready yet, but I’m really enjoying the devotion layout. Eye of the Storm definitely has lots of damage in it, so much that losing the final overcap point from Destruction isn’t a loss at all!

However, I’m not really sold on getting cast speed (outside what you naturally get, from EotS for example). It doesn’t seem that SoC ticks faster with higher speed (like the case is with BWC), but then again, I’ve only been testing with my eyes and I didn’t try any radical differences between casting speeds. I’d love to be wrong, so correct me if that’s the case!

I also get the point to make stuff rotate more smoothly, but personally, I don’t find totems being a bit janky that annoying (that’s where I’m mostly seeing the issue). I’m a pretty casual player, so chilling on a living room sofa with a controller and holding RB while spamming some buttons at times doesn’t feel bad. I don’t know if it feels worse on keyboard and mouse.

Bysmiel pants do make sense with entrapment resist, but since I personally don’t feel like getting Celerity on gloves, I’m probably gonna fish for a decent pair with “of Arcane Might” (ele dmg, trap resist, oa). With it, I have capped trap resist when Inspiration is up.

I’m gonna think and play around with your suggestions a little, but they’re really good and definitely gonna edit it in the main post with you credited later on!

Yeah, that actually makes sense! It’s just that I definitely would’ve picked Wendigo Totem on my own, but my mind was in such an autopilot mode (was contemplating between Warlock and Conjurer and was like “hehe totem free proccer, storm totems fun!”)…

I’ll test which I like better, but it’s definitely a fun choice of what you need.

That’s actually true, but I checked that you can get +2 Destruction in medal slot. Obviously extremely suboptimal, but the number is fixable at least!

That is the whole point. That sigil spam is so intense that wasting too many frames on casting CoF is just detrimental to build’s performance. Especially if your CoF cast gets interrupted by cc.

Glad you liked devos and Eye of the Storm.

Bysmiels also have hp which is really crucial for this build. Idea was to get as much ehp as needed to not get bursted to death in an unfortunate setup situation. Because if it doesn’t kill you in one or two quick hits you will always heal back quickly.
