While testing Beronath’s Fury with Zakul set, I noticed that repeated use of Beronath’s Fury seems to keep Onslaught around 2 stacks for a few seconds instead of allowing them to build normally. They continue to build up to 5, but the process is slower than with a default attack. Since Beronath’s Fury is still a default weapon replacer, I’m not sure whether this interaction is intended or whether Onslaught stack generation is being partially overridden.
After an additional test with Beronath fury I noticed that stacks mostly are stuck at 2, but sometimes at 3 or 4. And the onslaught buff timer is constantly returning to the same place as if it is constantly refreshed (without increasing number of stacks). While with default attack the stacks are continually building up and the process is more fluent and at lest 2 or 3 times faster.
Even if Beronath fury won’t make onslaught stack faster it would be great to at least be on the same speed as default attack. Thank you for looking into this! I love Grim Dawn!
P.S. To show what I mean I will attach a youtube link. You can see that with Beronath fury stacks were frozen on 3 and 2 stacks for significant amount of time, while with basic attack they always go fluently.
I don’t know if you mean they build slower with Zakull than without, but to be clear the skill Beronath’s Fury from the component Shard of Beronath only has 2 Onslaught Stacks.
Yes beronath fury has 2 onslaught stacks, and Zakul anima has 5 onslaught stacks. They don’t multiply but go up to 5. However, as they both have onslaught mechanic looks like there is a conflict which makes generation slow down and get stuck.
This is not bug.
I’ve tested similar scenario. If you already have more stacks than your current attack allow, it will be kept stack with halved duration time, but not amass.
I feel like this is a bug. Why should attack replacer slow down stack generation of the set while the basic attack doesn’t? Basically if they didn’t add the onslaught stacks to beronath fury it wouldn’t debuff the Zakul set.
I can reach 5 stacks in 5 seconds with basic attack spam
If I spam beronath fury I need 10-15 seconds to reach 5 stacks. Rarely I get stacks within 5 seconds, but in most cases it slows down the generation.
That does to be contrary to reasonable expectation. You would think that the 2 stack on Beronath would not really help, but that they would not slow down the accumulation of charges from the proc.
