It’s been a long time since I last posted a build here (and by long time, I mean LONG TIME), so I’ll (try to) keep the intro brief. I’ve been working on this build and posting about it for probably a week now and it’s still not even fully maximized with the best ascension modifiers, but it’s not at a point where it clears all content comfortably (additional thanks to mardoman for the last point adjustments!). Just face-tank Ravager. Crate dies in seconds. Uber Bobr explodinated. Or, well, bleed-inated, I guess? This may also be a great HC build, too, for what it’s worth. Anyways, on to the build!
The general concept for this was to maximize Blade Spirit and Bloodfangs’ usefulness, which is exactly what the Bloodmane Set does. With the remaining points we also put together a pretty convincing bleed Ring of Steel build pumped by Onslaught. And… 800% bleed duration. For some reason.
PROS:
Incredibly tanky. 28k HP for no apparent reason.
Crazy sustain. Has 72%(!!!) lifesteal.
In the event you face truly absurd damage, it’s a DoT build so you can just… walk away.
Pretty great damage, by my estimation.
Very speedy. Shadow Strike and two other hops means you zoom through everything.
Over 100% reflect resistance. Those reflect guys will just kill you, so it’s necessary.
Easy to start a workable build, presuming you have a Bloodmane set lying around.
CONS:
There can still be more damage maximization done here, but I play and build pretty defensively and this setup reflects that. Still kills superbosses in seconds, though, lmao.
Probably more, but this is my first build post to the forums in countless years!
The final build wants some specific MI’s + affixes. I don’t have all of them yet, but the build does feel great and can do all this without super specific affixes for what it’s worth.
Videos (All on Ascendant)
Old version of the build (prior to mardoman’s help):
Let me know if there is anything else I should add to the OP! I’ve genuinely had a blast with this build! I may re-do the videos later as I play better with it. I really shouldn’t be facetanking and moving on, I also play super inefficiently for SR, I just don’t play that mode that much really.
Well, you use the +6% health accessory augment, no wonder (Probably there for the reflect resist in the first place, but it doesn’t hurt.)
Not only that, but you also have 73% healing increased.
…Plus Dryad! This thing must be immortal
It sure does.
For what it’s worth, you would have better base damage putting your points into onslaught directly instead of endless rage, given how WPS scale off. Sure, you’ll lose a few stacks, but I think you would have better DPS overall
Your belt’s proc is redundant with the mod on your axe. I know there are no real good bleed belt for berserker or nightblade though… Have you considered a well-rolled calcified sash with good affixes ? (Maybe you did, because lacerator girdle is really good, but just in case)
More points in Onslaught would actually not increase damage at all. Weapon damage bleeding only applies once (per weapon) and Onslaught stacks buffed Ring of Steel is easily the largest source of weapon damage bleeding here.
As for the itemization, the augments on the rings is for reflect damage more than anything else because this build was killing itself on them lmao. The belt has great stats and grinding another green with good enough affixes to beat it was not something I wanted to do! The real optimizations here imo are with the affixes on the current greens, they’re far from perfect.
You have a lot of options, honestly! Both masteries have solid leveling skills you can use. RektbyProtoss has great videos you can reference.
For this build I leveled it in a way I thought it’d most similarly play in the end game, so I went straight for Blade Spirits and then did Onslaught + Ring of Steel stuff, and it was okay. I think using Werewolf would almost certainly be more effective while leveling.
Hi.
I leveled with werewolf till 25 and than I swapped for onslaught.
At the point where u get rend, it slaughters pretty much everything.
I took slaughter relic (+1 nightblade + bloodbath for dealing aoe and using the stacks)
Went into nightblade after maxing core skills.
It’s not optimal, but works fine. AFAIK leveling with wereraven shall be a breeze.
U can get pit master axes or the swords from the tyrant hold mobs. Then you get aoe to your onslaught. So u could max it out for leveling.
@ForgottenKane
Why u took pitmasters axe in your final build?
For +5 ring of slaughter and ROS modifier?
@DeputyChuck
What’s wrong with these boots except the affixe?
Pit Master’s Axe gives a lot of bleed to RoS via it’s skill modifier, can get some nasty good affixes, and allows the build to use the Berserker constellation. It’s doing a lot, honestly. It and the Bloodsong are a fantastic pair for what this build is doing.
I’ve been doing a similar build for a while and tested few different configurations using bloodmane, with the idea of additionally stacking some cold as a secondary damage type to fully make use of huge leech it has.
Originally I wanted to make an argument for 2nd pit master axe being better than bloodsong in terms of offense due to providing more bleed dps when taking onslaught stacks into consideration, but then I remembered that there exists a weapon with a truly obscene RoS bonus which also happens to support the 2nd damage type bloodmane uses.
It’s something like this.
(Stats without temp procs up)
There’s less life and tank in general than the OP build, but more damage. Generally around 3mil bleed ticks on a target dummy. There will probably be even more damage with 2nd chillheart, but I don’t want to play with 6s RoS CD. It can be marginally improved by replacing allostria ring with cronley’s with identical mods, or getting better prefix on the belt, but overall there’s not much to improve. The neck can be swapped with ascendant’s portent for huge tank boost, but I haven’t seen it so far.
Most importantly thanks to OP for reminding me that new reflect resit augments exist. Originally I was using Ulo to deal with reflect on this build lol.
Thanks mate for your much needed advices. I totally forgot about the need of an axe for Berserker haha.
next Question:
why maxed out Bloodfrenzy? is the IAS so much needed for a bleed build?
wouldnt it be better to invest into ROS for more %weapon dmg or amatoks pact for DA or untamed rage?
(yes i see in your videos, that u are nearly invincible. and im still asking myself why u dont lose any HP)
Could you elaborate on wich ones that would be? I looked around myself and it would seem your resistances would take a hit, especially to aether resistance?
I forget the final calc differences, but I assure you there are more optimal affixes without sacrificing resists (especially when you consider moving augments around).
Also, as a general update, I have modified the build somewhat since this. Will update the OP in a moment. Not major changes, just optimizes damage a bit from testing.
