Gun/Shield
Pet Hybrid

This is a concept of a Darkblaze Pyromancer going with a shield instead of taking two guns and making the Summon Hellhound somewhat a viable companion all at the same time! Of course it wont break any records but should still be viable for at least a consistent SR26/27 farm character with better pilots being able to go a few shards higher. Being more sturdy and having a pet for distraction yields some unexpected opportunities compared to the “traditional Darkblaze” setup and playstyle.

Prior to “Fangs of Asterkarn” i have played this build with the Occulant shield wich just isnt as effective as the new Cairnguard shield with its conversions and plus skills to both masteries.

Darkblaze_Ghol
That being said the build uses full Darkblaze Garb set and 3 pieces from Ghol’s Malice. We convert the Web Spiders Acid damage through the Darkblaze Amulet to Chaos damage. Without those we would fall too flat on the pet side of the build. The Ghol 3 piece set bonus works really well with the concept and helps out a lot, especially cause the items also offer a huge Health bonus, decent OA and “All damage %” for the player.

Really great Boots with a defensive trigger added with “Fangs of Asterkarn”. They offer skill bonuses to Blood of Dreeg and Flame Touched beside giving plenty pet resistances.

Voidwhisper Band_Combustion Band
Rings:
Mythical Voidwhisper Band, Mythical Combustion Band

The combo of those two is just too hard to beat. Can’t think of anything compareable.

We aim for the tier 3 "Dying God" constellation. Our shield abilities are supported by "Scarab" and "Shieldmaiden". The mandatory "Solael's Witchblade" needs no explanation. We end up on -126% Chaos resistance reduction. Furthermore we are able to have "Ghoul" and "Behemoth" for sustain.

Just so that you (and everyone else) are aware, the Acid to Chaos conversion modifier that is present in the amulet doesn’t work on pets. As such, you’re going to have a lot of Acid damage that is wasted on a setup like this.

Summon @Zantai
Thats a skill modifier from an amulet wich should apply the same way to allies as it applies to the player. If its difficult to code i can understand.

Please fix this if possible :zantai:

This is intentionally done so that players don’t bork other players in multiplayer by converting damage away from their main type to something that’s not used in the other players’ build.

When viewed that way, it makes total sense that conversion applied to one player doesn’t work for other players.

It should nevertheless still work for your own pets.

The conversion of the modifier could for clarity reasons be moved directly onto the amulet.

I know this is an amulet from an old set wich was designed with “Blood of Dreeg” applying the conversion. But honestly this seems a bit messy and could be cleaner implemented, therefore not causing any confusion.

It doesnt bother me personally how its being handled i love this build anyway.
The Ghol pieces give at least some Acid% and “Vulnerability” some RR too.
