1000+ pop, and game fully explored... rapidly approaching a lack of excitement

I’ve managed to get to 1000 pop and in fact beyond (1460) using mods, and have ‘everything’ you can have in the game now… this is my 5th attempt and have encountered every situation now, watched dozens of YouTube movies and read forums and also the mod forums, and it’s just at the point now where even on a large map (Lowland Lakes) on the difficult setting with 200+ raiders from multiple directions at once and invaders there is very little real challenge left.

Coffers of gold and stocks of foods and goods are overflowing, everything gets built as fast as this dodgy AI will allow and there are no new inhabitable lands on my map worth creating new settlements on. I have more than enough resources and to a certain extent have now reached that inertia where stuff ‘just happens’ on auto pilot. I still have usable land left but I can’t grow the game larger as performance FPS will just grind to a halt. I have eliminated most of the previously annoying limitations and frustrations of the game using mods but of course still bound by the crazy AI that often makes little sense,

As long as there is no fix yet for the truly ridiculous error of omitting any means of wall or fence prioritisation in this game as it was released (even at early access) , I simply could not face again the idea of making a new build of a huge sprawling city having to waste literal HOURS on clicking every goddamn wall segment wireframe one by laborious one to repeat a build of this size. Hopefully someone will soon mod this one too.

I am hoping that eventually there is more to this game and that there are more things to do, new challenges, new builds and industries, new explorations, larger pop limits and, well… all the things that posters here have suggested may or should be in a more finalised version of the game a few versions from now…whenever that may be.

I continue to ‘dabble’ with the enhanced and extended modded game I have but even then it’s now pretty much running on its own year after year. I constantly browse forums for new analyses and tips and suggestions to occupy the mind on farming, crops, building, tips and tricks, and micromanagement perfectionism but the actual game itself is now becoming pretty much routine…

Here’s hoping they have some wide ranging improvements and new content down the line…

Vs 8.0 released yesterday in Playtest addresses the prioritization of walls. It also enables more workers on walls by sending workers per segment instead of per wall.

They also ginned up the Vindicator level of warfare…
