€17,99?

I read on the european page of Steam that the cost for the expansion is €17,99.

Is this correct?

The exchange rate is EUR 1 = USD 1.183 for this day according to the ECB.

Am I the only one to assume that the price in Europe should therefore be around €15.00 at most?

If you look at many other games the conversuon rate also is 1:1. Not sure if you are the only one, but it is a common conversion for games or even actual items like many electronic devices.

You can thank VAT.

It´s normal. RPG Books have an exchange rate of 1:1 also.

Taxes, fella.

In Europe we pay 60 euros for brand new games, while USA pays 60 dollars. It has been like this for as long i can remember.

EU has and always will suck in the game sector:P
We pay more, get the slow PAL version and get releases way later than Japan and USA.

Germany even likes to censor games unnecessarily.

always is the same, use change 1:1 :frowning:

Thank you for your replies.

Good point. I always forget the damn taxes.

Well, looks like we’re in here to feed again our corrupt governments.

I know. I remember the Aliens versus Predator 2 game where the headshots have been disabled, while collecting skulls was the point of the game for the predators. All they could do is asking for the age of the player at the install or the launch of the game, and disable the headshots only for those who are less than 16 years old for instance, but no, we all have to be infantalized by the big mommy government.

Better throw 18 instead of 15 Bugs on a game most of us would buy for 50 aswell, than throwing democracy and constitutionality to Dagobert Duck! Oo

i dont understand the logic of currency, in my local currency its only US$ 7.8, why so cheap?

Currently Grim Dawn is on sale at Steam for 70% off, or $7.49 - at least for US customers.

Malmouth is $7.70 in my region, base game is $9.50. Very nice

I dunno… but since steam supported my local currency (TL), they have been using old exchange rates which means a lot cheaper. Currently 1 Dollars is 3.6 TL and xpac is 28 TL which means it is around 7.5/8.5 dollars. They have been applying this to nearly all games and luring a very pirative country to legal one. If we exclude living conditions in Turkey, this is a very good price. Valve has special interest in pirative countries i guess.
