This is my first forum post on here for builds. I’ve been getting compliments on this build ever since I’ve finished it, so I figured I’d share and get feedback, and/or opinions on it. This character is super fun and very fast paced. This is a 50 / 50 mastery for Nightblade and Arcanist. I have been able to complete all of Ultimate and Crusible with this build. Sorry in advance for not being able to figure out how to post images directly on the post.
The gear: (Item - Component)
Weapon - Soulrend - Coldstone (All the damages)
Helm - Deathmarked Hood - Ectoplasm (may need to change)
Neck - Night’s Embrace - Black Tallow (for Chaos resist)
Ring 1 - Sapphire of Elemental Balance - Mark of Illusions (regen / defense / + elemental damage)
Ring 2 - Ruby of Elemental Balance - Ectoplasm (may need to change)
Chest - Frostdread Cuirass - Hollowed Ground (regen / elemental resist)
Legs - Deathwhisper Leggings - Antivenom Salve (regen / poison resist)
Relic- Aegis (I like the extra tankiness)
Belt - Sash of the Immortal Sage (All the resists) - Antivenom Salve (regen / poison resist)
Medal - Mark of Dark Dreams - Black Tallow (Chaos resist)
Boots - Wraithwalkers - Mark of the Traveler (run speed / regen)
Gloves - Iceskorn Talons - Spellwoven Threads (Damage)
Shoulders - Deathmarked Shoulderguards - Antivenom Salve (regen / poison resist)
For Augments I use +10% Aether resist on all pieces.
Most of this was just gear I had left over in my stash, so if there are better pieces out there feel free to let me know. I’ve played around with the Deathmarked Chest and I feel the current one is better than the 3 set piece bonus.
Other notable stats:
32% crit chance. This makes Blizzard proc almost constantly.
1408% Cold Damage. More colder more better.
1302% Frostburn Damage. Big dots all the time (ticks for 60k / sec)
Biggest hit dealt: 118k
With full procs life regen is over 1k/sec.
Let me know if you try this build, and have any feedback.
to OP: you should really take those and overcap nights chill
also overcapping pneumatic burst and elemental awakening isnt needed imo, you could spend those points somewhere else, keep them at 12/12 is enough.
Same goes for maiven sphere of protection, keep it at 12 if you really feel like you need it and use the 3 points in conversion to get some stun resist that you lack.
also 1 point in nullification is mandatory imo, this skill is just too usefull to be skipped.
finaly i dont think OFF is needed on this kind of build, but its a matter of taste i guess, but id say again to reduce the points in it and put them into absolute zero to do additional frostburn damages.
defensive devotion is a matter of choice, still i think youd get better results going more offensive, or try to get better resists in your devotion set up, taking empty throne for example.
finaly i invite you to check this previous build
I would have loved to have more HP with this build, but as it sits currently I haven’t had much issues with dying a lot. Also the gear doesn’t have much life on it, so most of the health comes from Devotions / Components / Physique.
I will test this out and get back to you. Originally I had this maxed out, but I had to redo my entire skill tree and this was left out to make room for other skills.
One question I have about that build is, how is the damage mitigation with your build? One issue I had with my first iteration of the cold spellbreaker was I would get one shot by almost everything.
I agree that Nullification is a must have “one off” skill. Although, I haven’t had any issues thus far with survivability. I wanted this character to be able to survive a lot of incoming damage. My first iteration of this build would get one shot by almost everything, so I may have gone overboard with the defense, but I feel like its a happy balance between defense and offense.
I did see that build you posted before I posted this one, and I am curious as to how it plays. Once I get the gear required for it, I will definitely try it out.
well with pneumatic burst up i have a bit more than 2.2K DA, with procs it goes up to 2.4K, obviously i use mirror and sometimes blade barrier (almost never i must say), with 14% ADCTH i went (very) offensive set up, with less than 9k HP and 0% physical resist i have no issue. Where i can have issues its againt undead nemesis obviously, didnt tried bourbon boss but im pretty sure i would die before killing its final form and finaly valbury can be pretty tricky, but i just dont like this dungeon so i honestly just dont go there.
still i think you should put a point in nullification, you can totaly earn a point somewhere for it.
But as i said about my build, its not tanky set up at all, offensive and dynamic gameplay that wont allow much mistakes, and with bad rng sure you can die fast; i know many players dont like that and i totaly understand the way you went.
But i have to say that with 25/ pierce res, 26% on bleed, 4% on chaos and 0% on stun i think you were forced to go defensive, im sure that if you improve your resists, even if loosing some dmg with the gearing will allow you to go more offensive in skills and devotions.
There are better rings out there, these are just what i have currently. They work pretty decently for the time being. I have run around 30 times to get those rings from alkamos, and havent seen them drop yet
As a small update, i took your advice with nullification, and other skills. Its definitely helping out a ton. I also used your helm and shoulder slots, and that increased my damage by a lot. Slightly less defense, but the damage makes up for it.
I will be updating this guide as soon as I polish the rest out.
