[2h Melee] Oathkeeper class

Hey all. Since the difficulty update, I wanted to roll a new character to see the difference.

And I want to try out a 2handed melee Oathkeeper which makes use of WPS.

What would be some good class combos to pair with the Oathkeeper? I know that for 2h, the only WPS I can use is Smite, so I am expecting to pair him with a class which has some more. Would a Necromamcer work well? Or is there a better option? What damage type should I focus on?

Smite can be used, but haven’t seen many builds posted as 2h melee with OK mastery.

Vitality damage probably can be build. Opressor RF or Savagery Archon. Fire Shieldbreaker with SharZul weapon. Physical Warlord maybe or Acid Sentinel. So there are options, but I don’t know how good they are.

Regarding your sugestions:

  • Opressor RF: makes sense. I assume this is the vitality focus you mentioned, with attack speed from Consecration and Harbinger of souls if i choose it as my Exclusive, and at least 3 WPS.
  • Savagery Achron: Focused on Lightning? Attack speed from Storm Touched and Consecration. 2 WPS. Decent to good Sustain?
  • Fire Shieldbreaker: don’t really like Demo as a mastery, So I willl skip this.
  • Physical Warlord: Probably tankyest of them? Only attack speed from Consecration. 3 WPS. Only passive heals?
  • Acid Sentinel: I love myself some Acid dmg. Attack speed from Solael’s Witchfire and Consecration. Active heal and good RR?

Is there anything I am missing in my comparison?

Sounds awful to be honest.

On fire, physical or vitality. The former could be made with Blazerush while two of the latter are Avenger+Bloodrager and Wildblood respectively. Vitality might be a bit obsolete due to nerfs.

Physical Blade Arc in Bloodrager.
Field Command has attack speed.

May be possible with green Eldritch Halberd, but some people say it won’t be that good with just one WPS.

Vitality Primal Strike with Rotgeist and physical Primal Strike with 4/5 Ultos and Avenger Crusher.

Overall I’ve yet to see a good 2H build based on RF. There’s burning halberd but it doesn’t convert RF to fire. It’s easier to find extra WPS for it though than for Eldritch Halberd based builds.

Ah. Missed that. Thanks for pointing it out.

I saw that weapon. It’s the one that converts smite to acid and gives + to Smite and Vulnerability + some extra stuff. That indeed looks nice, but your comment regarding a single WPS was on my mind as well. :frowning: . Occ and Nightblade have acid support and they don’t have any WPS :frowning:. And I don’t think I saw any 2H dervishes.

No, don’t take my word for it. If you’re interested then try it. Maybe you’ll discover something pretty good, who knows. Worst case you’ll get BK set and and become a 2H caster with some excuse melee.

More like an educated guess than a reason.
