3 two-hand fire Bomb builds comparison

GD has several items support fire grenado and canister bomb, here I select 3 two-handed weapon build, and make a simple comparison. Summary at the end of the article.

State first: these 3 builds all enough to deal with SR3031(didnt consider crucible or killing super boss), so this is just a DPS comparison

  1. Adversary ShieldBreaker Provide weapon demage to these 2 bombs

  2. Ulzuin 4-set ShieldBreaker Buffed in the 1.2.1.6 version update. 4-set performs better than 5 set, cause 5-set grenado has mixed fire and lightning demage, not good. Demolitionist’s exclusive set, provide modification ONLY for canister bomb

  1. As we see, Adversary and Ulzuin are not that compatitive, especially compared with hellbrone;
  2. Canister’s CD seem too long, and hard to find -cd in game, Grenado has 2.5s basic cd, but it can be easily reduced to 1.5s by amulet and medal, in fact, grenado provide over 70% demage in these builds;
  3. In 1.2.16 playtest, crate has increaced %demage for some one-handed ranged weapons, which are considered as ā€˜Casting weapons’, so I think two-hand weapon also need update, not to say ranged weapons have lower base demage than melee weapons, ranged weapons do not have the advantage that one might expect cuz we usually fight with monsters face to face in GD.
  4. Another set: runebinder provide modification for both ice and fire rune, so why not consider ulzuin buff grenado and canister together

Two things that you should mention here:

  • both Adversary and Hellborne specs have zero global cdr which is really detrimental to rotation casters. Not just for your bombs, but for your blast shield and your devotions
  • Hellborne doesn’t have points in Thermite Mines and Improved Casing. Improved Casing is the thing that scales Canister dps a lot: higher the radius shards have - more chance of them overlapping at one target.

You are right, cdr and canister’s fragments are important in these builds. As for me, Canister’s main problem is, its cd is 4.5s, too long, blade arc 3.8s, grenado 2.5s, cd dreeg eye 4s, cd callidor 3.8s… and they have better modification support for dot demage or global cdr, this is what I concern about most.
And another thing is , hellbrone perform much better than another two, its DPS is in next leve; and fire ratialiation demage can easily converted to other type, like ice, aether, acid, making hellbrone have more diverse builds.

do you have any videos of it? Like Ravager kill or if it can’t facetank it then 4x dummy reset or just a Crucible or SR run?

I am an SR player and don’t post video on internet, so sorry at first.
I can share some performance in SR and killing Callagadra to explain why hellbrone is crazy:

I spent about 2 hours testing SR30-31 Ulzuin Shieldbreaker, achieving a fastest run time of 4 min2s. For Hellborne , my favorite build is ice Grenado Saboteur, and its first SR30-31 reached 3min51s.

For dummy testing, Ulzuin’s maximum damage dealt less than 1.45 million, while Hellborne’s max damage over 2.3 million. Taking into account CDR effects (Ulzuin has at most 25% global CDR with 4-set in playtest), Hellborne still has a advantage in DPS, and we have ulzuin’s choosen to skill refresh.

There is a very small chance for Hellborne to reset the dummy (I succeeded only once but didn’t record it).

For super bosses, honestly, they cannot facetank Ravager or Sand, and energy recovery is also a problem. To conduct the test, I modified the character’s Physique to ensure I had enough health and DA to tank hits while maintaining consistent damage output. This tweak barely affected Ulzuin’s damage but reduced Hellborne’s retaliation damage due to the lower hit rate from enemies (only 55% accuracy on me).

The test results showed that Hellborne took 39 seconds to kill Callagadra , Ulzuin took 56 seconds .

So it seems that damage on RtA Canister/Grenado is a bit overtuned, right? Or is it Hellborne itself?

Of course, Hellborne performs very well, mainly because Kraken provide 240%rta demage in 1.2.1.6, and I think Ulzuin and Adversary need more buffs but not hellbrone overtuned. In fact, there are other two-bomb builds, like Cindercore Fire Grenado , Barrelsmith Set , Scion of Burning Vengeance RtA Grenado. Based on my personal experience, these two-handed weapons(Ulzuin set and Adversary) perform worse in comparison, espcially ulzuin, 4-set performs better than 5-set. This is also the reason why I made this post for comparison.
