right on Hope this game goes viral!
I have been watching this as well , its great to see that trend line continuing to spike!
Also I’ve noticed steam has picked up over 500 more reviews since Wednesday and i think 490 of them are positive. And Half the negative ones are people who say they can’t play the game, so I have been trying to help some people out in getting their game up and running, it’s not much but anything we can do to get Crate to be as successful as possible and alleviate some of the stress on such a small team.
Yeah, I’ve been holding off my review for post release myself, as I think that it would give a bigger “buyer push” that way. So mine is there in that 500 new positive reviews
OMG! I hope the number up and up and up
Awesome. 8,882.

almost 9500, c’mon 10K !
I’m the 9570th player online!!
10,087 in-game right now. 10k mark has fallen!
Just hitting 12k!
All-time peak =
13,279 (so far)

14k players is a really good number. There are only two arpg games that I know of, that had more players on steam release, and thats PoE and TL2.
The interesting thing is that the game till the release sold around 250 000 copies on steam, but after release its actually not got a huge number of new buyers (so far it got around +10 000 owners).
Damn, 10k since release is sad news :-(. Here’s hoping word of mouth will get GD some well-deserved attention, as players share their experience with game. I sure intend to do so.
Some media coverage would also be nice.
On the plus side, already 15006 online right now. Time to hop in, as player 15007!
You are missing the bigger picture, they sold over 250 000 copies, thats a lot (well for a small team like crate), and probably majority of people that were interested in the game already got it during EA.
And that’s the main thing that matters, how many copies they sold in total.
whoa, they sold 250k copies? Do you have a source for these numbers?
Source is probably steamspy, or something like it.
And yeah, 1/4 of a million is a nice number, indeed. It’s just… well, Crate was developing and improving GD all this time, and now that it is released, I hoped they’d get some good sales, as an… I dunno, some sort of finish line, sense of accomplishment, you know?
Some people bought the game 5+ months ago and already had 200, 300, 400+ hours played before the game officially released.
So, the number may not pass 20,000+ until there’s a expansion. And I think odds are that the expansion won’t be on Early Access so 20,000 players could be online at the same time, at release.
Let’s hope that Crate made enough money to comfortable make an expansion and perhaps a GD2 with a new engine after that!
I think that they did pretty well, and will continue to sell additional copies for at least a month or so. There has been some buzz about GD after release and many good reviews! It’s hard to guage how big a success it all was, seeing that the game has been in development so long, but I think it’s safe to say that they wouldn’t push past their budget.
Also, passed 15k on steam now! I thought it would top at round 15k this weekend.
See here:
The sales numbers are unpredictable during sales/busy periods, so don’t expect it to accurately reflect purchases in the last few days.
Given there aren’t any published reviews or marketing at the moment, it appears Grim Dawn is already doing well. I feel that once the reviews start popping up the sales will increase even faster.
