A noob question about Summoner

First , English not my language then dont talk about my grammar

i look about pet build and pet draw aggro , pet system 2015 until now , but i did not see who care about us :undecided: Then today i wanna ask a small question ?

  1. I have char is Conjurer full gear lvl 81 still stay in ultimate , then dont teach me how to play a Conjurer , coz i look + check all list , clip , guide about this build so many many times .

  2. Summoner is class , who call pets to fight for them , but WTF ! why we must move a round , move circle when our pets still alive !? .

  3. Almost game rpg i played i just play summoner is main class , another class just for relax and find something new style . D2 almost know about necromancer , this is called invincible in PvE or PvP if have enough gear and runeword , when PvP just win or draw never can beat down them , with gear pet reflect dam , and runeword engima for teleport . As Skyrim , conjure skill easy beat down Audin in legend gameplay , just summon 2 dremora lord same time and watch CINEMA : Lord of Dragon vs Lord of Daedra . Coz they too much power then Skyrim neft them every patch but still OP .

But why on GD when you have a skill crow control for pets , but pet very useless ? Why we are summoner but we must RUN like a DOG when our pet still alive and full Hit point ?

  1. I have a class Blademaster easy standing vs Avatar of Mogdrogen on ultimate with life steal build . And as i know so much clip on youtube about Comando class , warder class … can easy fight Avatar of Mogdrogen on ultimate so easy without do any attack , they just stand for procs + lifesteal kill boss O.o

update 1.0.0.9 said balance all class O.o But what is balance for summoner ?

I really wanna see a small clip pure summoner can stay and fight again Avatar of Mogdrogen on ultimate .

Please show me !!! :undecided:

Oh senpai, please notice us, how your bm easily beating avatar on ultimate.

Funny enough the fastest (as far as i know) ulti Mogdrogen kill was done by a summoner ;).

First post in thread has a link to a video and another to a guide.

It was nerfed a bit since then (mostly the Primal Instinct relic) so should be a bit slower than 3 and a half mins in latest versions but still one of the best.

So let me make sure I’m understanding this right: You find it annoying that summoner characters need to worry about being targeted and attacked by enemies even when their pets are still alive and fighting?

I believe that is intentional design. From personal experience, I don’t like playing games where one character can sit around doing nothing in combat, with no risk, and still contribute as much to combat someone who is actively playing. I find it boring to play as that sort character, and it’s often a drag to play alongside those sorts of characters in multiplayer as well.

Of course I realize that there are some uses for character builds - for instance, my mind goes to Twitch streamers like ‘NoHandsKen’ who have experienced accidents or other disabilities that physically inhibit their ability to interact with the game. I have the utmost respect for those sorts of gamers, of course, but even then, I think Grim Dawn doesn’t need to reduce the challenge of the game further.

The pets in Grim Dawn are strong enough to provide good damage, but the Summoner does actually need to pay attention and push some buttons to avoid being killed - just like any other character build needs to.

I initially tried the super-popular, carefully thought through “Lazy Pokemon” summoner build guide for my pet-focused summoner. But, I found that my summoner was running around more or less constantly, trying to avoid getting killed.

So, I went for a different approach, maxing out the Familiar, who often runs interference for mobs that head for my summoner, and opting for a completely different devotions set-up that emphasized defense. Despite luck at finding gear that has to rank as really, really bad, and being driven by a novice at the time (he was my first character to progress deeply into the game) he’s in the final phases of ultimate hardcore difficulty now (lvl 81).

A lot of damage was given up, so it’s not a “quick clear” build. But, it’s a robust build that helped me learn the game better. Having 13K+ hit points and Healing Rain (Tree of Life), plus Giant’s Blood (Behemoth) has a lot to do with that, allowing my summoner to deliberately take hits for my pets in many cases, even late in ultimate difficulty.

I understand gearing and (very importantly, for summoner builds) aggro mechanics much better now. I could probably make the Pokemon build work, if I tried it again. But, my experience at trying out the Pokemon build as a novice led me in a different direction that I ended up being happy to follow.

I’m not certain if this might help, given that you’re already level 81. But, in case you wanted to re-start or revise, or at least review aggro mechanics and re-think your approach to encounters in a way that leaves your summoner feeling less hounded (pun intended), hopefully this proves in some way helpful.

I knew that build , my build not under his build :frowning: About his build i just not have belt + shoes same him . Head + armor + … i got all -_-
