A question about Inquisitor's Seal

Can I used this skill purely offensively. By that I mean can I drop it like I would an Inquisitor Rune, as a trap for enemies to walk over? Will it still do its damaging Rebuke attack (and thus proc devotions) if I am not standing inside the seal? In fact the seal might be in another room nearby. Will it work? Thanks

Can’t you check this yourself? Training dummies are just outside of Devil’s Crossing, you know. Oh, and you’ll be dissapointed by the damage output by the way, it’s there mostly just for flavor.

You’d also need to use Pet Attack on dummies in order for Seals to trigger devotions.

Inquisitor Seal deals damage to any enemy on top of it even if you are not standing on it as well.

Some neat tricks about the seal and devotions :

  • It’s a (player-scaled) pet so it needs Pet Attack to properly attack dummies
  • as such, on top of the damage aura, Rebuke, it has a basic attack that does no damage but procs devotions (It is shown on Grimtools)
  • and because it’s an attack, multiple seals on a target will actually proc a devotion more
  • also because a pet, devotions fire from the seal and not you
  • targetting a mob with the seal will perfectly center it on the target (until it moves), it’s very good with Blades of Wrath (at least before the nerf) due to the previous point

So yes its damage is crap but it interacts well with devotions

Nice, thanks all.

Going for an elemental Inquisitor/Demolitionist that’ll be trap-based with tons of Devotion procs.
