Primal Spirit’s Tail Strike ability tooltip says 100% weapon damage. The weapon damage is of course your weapon, right? So if it is a plaguebearer weapon should apply the resist reduction, correct?
No. This guy scales with Pet bonuses. The WD is there to make it proc additional flat damage you give your pets via items/skills.
So the only oet skills to apply YOUR weapon damage is necomancer’s reap spirit, right? Which wpould apply plaguebeares effect, correct?
Sorry for double post, but Ceno in Discord says that Tails Strike applies your wepon damage and hence plaguebeares effects as well. Ok I need spirital guidance.
It does not. Pets that state that scale with PET BONUSES don’t take anything from the player’s character. Even Crate stated in one patch that they use their weapon damage to proc stuff like additional flat damage.
Here’s proof: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72587
Scroll to, for example, Occultist, “Ember Claw: now also deals up to 85% of the pet’s attack damage (scaling with rank) in addition to the skill’s damage. Now strikes up to 5 targets. % Crit damage bonus removed.”.
And Shaman: “Conjure Primal Spirit: added % Crit damage bonus scaling with rank. Special attacks now deal the pet’s full Attack damage.”.
So, again, would be Reap Spirit from Necromancer tree the only ability apply your weapon damage, correct? Since that one is and attack that then summon a pet. Or neither Reap Spirit applies your weapon damage?
It’s easy to tell by just looking where are the stats located. But some people don’t know that Reap Spirit is the only skill that does both. So, everything that is stated above the summon line is enhanced by player stats. The weapon damage is player’s damage, cold and vitality too.
No player %wp dmg. It’ s the same as Ground Slam. Devs made this change in AoM to enhance pets procs. Especially those like Ground slam or Ember Claw that cost a lot of points. The 100% weapon dmg means that spirit will do it’s full base dmg with bonuses and all at full 100% strength along with the proc that has pierce/poison/stun
PRimal Spirit got the upgrade cause it’s also a proc and when crate buff/nerf an element they do it globally cause it’s clean. And that way they can also rule out exceptions IF they have to, which is not the case with Spirit.
This is different. The spell is a hybrid between player attack and pet. When you cast it on an enemy, damaging it, you use your %WP dmg
Thanks to both of you. I guess I will use reap spirit or bone harvest to apply plaguebeares debuffs then. Thank you again for your answers.
Tangential question, the flat vitality damage from Soul Harvest will not be applied to Raise Skeleton then?
The flat damage under “Bonus to All Pets” will be applied. Depending on the skeleton and attack used, different % of the flat damage will be applied.
I assume the standard attacks using sword or bow gets the full 100%. Spells like Fire Nova, Fire Shard, deathbolt, and Undeath Missile have varying Weapon damage %, (20%-25%). The charge has 50% weapon damage.
Thanks, are these skills listed in Grim Tool somewhere?
Yeah. If you click on the cog in the top left and choose “show all pet attributes and skills”, then when you mouse over raise skeletons hit tab to cycle through the skeletons and see each one’s attacks and spells.
Got it! Thanks alot!
