AAR is weak at the baseline

My take on how they do in SR…

Aether Clairvoyant Binder Spellbinder, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
consistently SR 40, max is SR 43 but struggles with Celestials probably due to lower OA. I would not say OP exactly due to struggle with celestials…

Aether non set binder Spellbinder, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
SR 38 consistently, max SR 40 but it is slow. Can kill Ravager of Flesh but slowly. More damage please… For 1.2.1.6 this version might perform better… Spellbinder, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

Chaos Warlock Warlock, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
didn’t test that much… probably consistently SR 38/39 and max is SR 41. Did not try celestials but I think they are doable. Ritual Circle needs definitely a rework!!!

Aether Clairvoyant Warlock Warlock, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
SR 36/37 consistently, max is SR 39, no celestials. Should be buffed in 1.2.1.6 but don’t know if it is enough… More OA would be nice for sure.

Pierce Mage Hunter [1.2.1.5] Pierce AAR Mage Hunter, SR 38+
Needs more damage! Defense is good. SR 38/39 consistently, max is SR 41.

Lightning Druid [1.2.1.5] Lightning AAR Druid, Ravager, Callagadra, SR 36+
I am not a fan of health regen on AAR. It crumbles in SR 38. It needs more damage for sure. It is fine with Ravager and Calagadra but slow.

Fire Templar Templar, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
On paper very tanky but in reality not that great… Consistently SR 36/37, max is SR 39, needs more damage even though it is second highest DPS behind Clairvoyant Binder… Can kill Ravager of Flesh slowly.

Cold Spellbreaker Spellbreaker, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
Weakest in SR. Consistently SR 34/35. Starts struggling due to defense in SR 36/37. Needs more energy regen, more defense and more damage. Cold Binder should be the best cold variation in 1.2.1.6 I guess…

I did not try elemental Mage Hunters but my guess is they would be sturdy in SR yet would lack damage…

Generally all elemental variations need a lot more damage. Fire can now use two leech items for AAR. So can vitality as I understand it. Did not try vitality yet.

And my most favorite is Physical Battlemage [1.2.1.5] Physical AAR Battlemage, Ravager, Callagadra, SR 38+
Not as good as Clairvoyant Binder but sturdy and fun to play. No interruptions from any skills! This is how AAR should be played. SR 38/39 consistently, max is SR 41. Can kill both Calla and Ravager slowly.
