Acid Albrecht's Aether Ray - The pinnacle of a love story

Dear Zantai, dear everyone of Crate entertainment,

what I am about to write is about the labor of love. Of friendship. Of work. And most importantly - it is about a dream I dreamt for so long.
Back in 2020, I already made a post about the conversation of some of AAR’s most iconic damage-type to acid and / or poison. I also suggested a bleed-AAR, but this would truly be another topic. So please bear with me as I explain and show why an Acid-AAR with officially green colors has to be implemented.

Back when I was a little therapist, a client that has happened to be my future wife came into my room, wanting some help with some therapeutic stuff - as an occupational therapist, I could help her with some thumb-problems. When I asked her how she got the problems, she stated that she played this one new video-game called “Grim Dawn” and she really got into it. We talked about the game in our sessions of pain-revlieving her thumb and carpaltunnel-issues and we got to talk about how cool the devotion-system is and how she blasts things away with this thing called an “Aether Ray”. Having now idea what this was about, I bought the game myself and fell in love with its story, easiness to play, with the Soldier and the Occultist-class and the ability to shape your skills like you wanted them to be. Chaos-bonking with a big 2-handed weapon? Sure. Cursing and watching enemies bleed to death? Got you covered. Summon a literal army of pets to watch your enemies get bitten, electrocuted and spiked to death? Don’t worry, we even have sets for that. What a time to be alive.
And then, after some time AoM came out, my now girlfriend spoke to me “Hey, Some of these beams have different colors. There is a chaos-colored beam and if I get this conduit-thing, my beam turns to full aether, like, how cool is that!” And I was awstruck at how cool it looked. It became her dream and her destiny to get all the different colors of an AAR.
The yellow one was her favorite. Farming the Krieg-Set and shouting and beaming foes to oblivion with some manical laughter in the backround was one of my most precious memories this game created for me. She collected them all. The green, red, the purple pseudo-AAR with the book, the yellow one, even fire and cold.
And then she asked me “Darling, is there a poison-variant of this beam?”
I answered “No, there isn’t. The conduit has a piercing-variant tho.”
So we played that. And laughed again. Some time later, after finishing the campaign for the x time, I can’t remember, she came up to me again.
“Honey, the new patch is out. Did they add the green laz0r?”
Calmy I replied “No, they didn’t. I even made a post, but sadly there wasn’t room for that, I fear. They are busy with FG and patching and all these new totem-things and-”
“But I want it. I dream of it. If Devastation can have an acid-variant, why can’t the AAR have one, too?”

And after suggesting it for some time, even her, I ask you, Crate Entertainment, once more:
Please implement the official support of an Acid Albrecht’s Aether Ray with a converted coloring to acid-green. I have one picture of how it can look. I thing Stupid_Dragon made it back in 2020, image below.

But how, you ask? The idea is simple.
Conduit of Arcane whispers is all it would need. At the crafting bench, One affix could be:

“6% Weapon damage to Albrecht’s Aether Ray.
100% of Aether damage converted to Acid damage to Albrecht’s Aether Ray.
100% of Fire damage converted to Acid damage to Albrecht’s Aether Ray.
100% of Lightning damage converted to Poison damage to Albrecht’s Aether Ray.”
=> Equipping this item changes the color to acid-green as shown in the image below. It is more about the color than the ability to play as an acid-AAR since I know some medals can already convert the damage to acid. Looking at you, basilisk-thing. We know that, but the colors. The colors.

The implemention could be as simple as this. I am absolutely not asking you to make an OP-superstrong-skill out of it. I am not asking you to make this even compairable to some popular AAR-builds like physical, lightning or even cold. You could even leave the poison-damage type out of it since I don’t rly know how the damage would behave if you simply convert the elemental damage to poison with a tick and scaling, that I leave up to you, dearest developers. But I simply and humbly ask - put this in the game with 1.2.
My wife and I are fans of Grim Dawn. We played hundreds of hours.
This is not a skill-recommendation out of curiosity. Nor one out of the hunger for power.

This is a request out of love. And since you love your game so much that you even add a third and wonderful expantion to it, I humbly ask for a bit of sharing of that love to one mtx that would make your wonderful game even more prismatic in a world so full of darkness and terror these days.
So long, friend, and thank you for reading. May you have a great day -

SIncerly,
SinSeven
