I have 3 diferent characters and I’d like to make a new one based on acid/poison. I don’t know if it’s posible to make a good character based on acid/poison for ultimate, is it?
The poison of the same skill doesn’t stack, but differents skills stack, is it correct? If this is correct?
Another question, nightblade/occultist? They are probable the best poison based players.
And the last question. Two hands weapon, one hand with offhand or two handed character?
Correct! Damage over time from same skill will not stack, it will merely refresh duration and give you another chance to make it a crit DoT if it didn’t crit the 1st time
Yes witch hunter is best option, by far best
Dual wield > DEE spammer with off hand > 2 handed. A lot of people go arcanist second class if they go dreeg evil eye spam, but nightblade 2nd is a lot better imo
You’ve mixed (part) of the melee build with the caster build and overskilled your DEE line (Terrifying Gaze gives weak returns if you are using the transmuter, almost no returns at all if you aren’t, Vile Eruption is great if you aren’t using the transmuter but almost worthless if you are).
Keep in mind Nidalla’s requires you to take at least one of the three nightblade DW skills to use and would also require you to spend at least some time swinging away in melee range. You’ll also likely want at least a few more points into Curse of Frailty, it gets annoying having to cast 3-4 times to cover a group of enemies. And finally Poison builds should always have 1 point into Blade Barrier. When your enemy is already taking 100k+ damage/tick without any further action going into a personal stasis for 3 secs is kinda awesome.
Also Veil of Shadow + Nights Chill >>>>>>>>>…>>>>> Merciless Repertoire - which gives even worse returns than Terrifying Gaze.
First - what type of poisoner do you want to be? It looks like you are trying to go the cooldown based route - in which case you are close but you’ll still need shadowstrike. There is also psn/acid melee but that ends up devolving to more ‘acid’ than ‘poison’ because of the way NHH scales.
I’d like to max the damage, but need to get some resistances to survive. I don’t want to be an eye shooter, so I want to pick some poison attacks to stack their poison damage and increase the total damage.
That’s the reason I picked several spells, but I agree with Silben that I’m missing some important spells.
I can easyly enter in the combat, use the poison spells, and then leave the battle.
I need to expend some time looking for the items of the build because I need to know the requeriments of the items (physic, cunning and spirit). I’ll make a dual-handed character.
Veil of Shadows/Night’s Chill is the key difference maker, even if you aren’t relying heavily on the WPS. PB, Shadow Dance and Blade Barrier are a nice defensive package, too (granted that Mirror especially and Sphere are good as well).
I have a DEE warlock and DEE witch hunter and the witch hunter is much better imo. Losing mental alacrity and mirror sucks, but you can still manage the energy cost just fine and we still have a lifesaver with blade barrier. What you gain is a giant poison debuff for a ton more damage which massively outweighs the huge spirit bonus from arcanist, shadow strike for mobility. You do lose Maiven’s (which also cuts into our damage), but nightblade mastery gives us more HP and another fat heal from pneumatic burst. Scales/wendigo devotions + blood of dreeg/pneumatic provide an immense amount of survivability so losing maiven’s is a non issue defensively in my eyes
CoF and Night’s Chill absolutely stack. There are 3 types of debuffs based on wording XX reduced, -XX%, and XX% reduced. The values of XX -XX are flat numbers subtracted from the enemy’s resist, XX% reduced is a multiplier 20% reduced multipliers their resist by .8 after the other two have been subtracted or if an enmies resist is negative it will multiply by 1.2
XX and XX% reduced do not stack only strongest applies. -XX% like cof/chill stack as long as they are from different sources. So if you have 2x Exterminus pistols with -20 fire/chaos debuffs they will not stack as it is the same debuff
I’m not really sure? I wanted to spam poison balls at things, right now I’m just using a transmuted DEE and a Mutagenic Ichor and am gonna throw on a Mark of Dreeg when I get to the appropriate level
On the topic of DEE spamming, I made mine a warlock because I like to stay as far away from the things I’m killing as possible and nights chill, while a very nice skill, still suffers a bit from limited range. If you don’t mind being in or near melee range then definitely go with witch hunter. Although 1.0.0.4 did lower overall resists so nights chill is not as strong as it used to be. Still plenty of power there though.
I’m not sure I’d call it simply ridiculous, but it’s pretty nice
Correct, dual wield has nothing to do with spells.
~2750 with blood of dreeg up, a bit over 2900 with judicator ring proc which is essentially a 100% up time buff. That’s with my tankier devotions too, breaks 3k with the offensive setup and does a bit more damage. Worth noting that I have arguably best in slot gear and good rolls on top of that. DA is ~1900 with the ring proc too which combined with all the phys resist, dodge, and healing makes us quite tanky facetanking sharzul and nemesis ftw!
i made an acid/poison dw blademaster that totally wrecked veteran and elite, i’m currently lvl 79 in hc ultimate and i’m still not having any trouble. it can be pretty gear dependent in late game but for early game, once you hit lvl 15 and equip mark of dreeg for dreegs infinite gaze and lvl 20 equip vitriolic gallstone for poison aura it’s all downhill from there. currently my acid and poison modifiers are both well over 1300% with about 300% plus duration. all i have to to do is shadow strike into a mob, melee strike a couple times (either cadence, amarasta’s blade burst or troll rage, i chose to go the amarasta’s route for now), cast dreegs infinite gaze rinse repeat and everything dies.
