Acid Warlord Build Feedback Wanted

Hi everybody,

I’m new to the forums so forgive me if there’s a better place to ask for feedback on builds.

I’ve been trying my hand at making an Acid Retaliation Warlord using the full “Sentinel of the Three” armor set. I have theorized what this would look like in grim tools but would like feedback. Let me preface this by saying I’m a noob, so I fully expect to get heavily criticized. However, please note I want these core components:

  • Wardlord
  • Acid
  • Full Sentinel of the Three set
  • Retaliation
  • Vire’s Might

With that said, here’s the kind of feedback I’m hoping for:

  • What doesn’t make sense about the build? Why?
  • Any mechanics I am clearly not understanding based on the build? Which? Why?
  • What would you change about the build? Why?

Thanks in advance! Hoping to learn a lot!

It’s very impressive that you achieved 2335 DA on Warlord. Not being a dick here, I am actually impressed because all my warlords end up with at least 2700 DA. But about feedback, your DA and OA is trash and you HAVE TO increase it to at least 2700. Skill allocation is also quite poor, but not really bad.

you seem to miss some augments (weapon) and component in ring

why +500 spirit?

but yeah, crap OA/DA and resistances are … not so good

No offense taken! What are some things I could change to improve DA and OA? What’s special about the value 2700?

Acid Warlord:eek:.And you deliberately sabotage your build. But still can be decent,I suppose.

Field command is a nice source of OA and DA

also please add resilience and sadeguard

If you wanna go with retal, consider Menhir bulward as exclusive

Crap, I must not have saved some changes. My bad. I forget I have to get a new link after having made changes.

The spirit is for the helmet. I wouldn’t have it otherwise.

Thanks for the suggestions! Does the damage conversion from Path of the Three not affect retaliation damage? Or why would Menhir’s Bulwark be better? Because of the retaliation damage bonuses?

Well I guess its a trade-off you have to make

Bulwark gives you resistance to life reduction and also dmg absorption

but PoT also give cooldown so that you can cast overguard etc more frequently

but yeah, global damage conversions also affect retal dmg

Yeah I suppose I wouldn’t really know which would work out better just because I’m unable to test them.

I did make some changes to the build. Is this OA and DA better?

Hah, quite possibly. It’s just the concept of it looked like fun. Not really looking for a top tier build, just trying to make this one as good as I can. :stuck_out_tongue:

I forgot to ask, but what’s wrong with the skill allocation?

Hey @malawiglenn,

I did test the build, although I only really have the 4-piece set from the build, the boots, and the rings. The damage is actually pretty good (I think anyway), and I don’t have any issues taking out ranged mobs and casters, like other retal builds do. However, the build struggles staying in the fight at crucible waves 100+. I’ve been modifying the devotion to try and make up for it, but most things I’ve tried have not worked. You got any suggestions for a really tanky devotion build for retal?
