Getting some epic items, particularly medals and jewellery, seems to be a real slog compared to legendary items. Adding the ability to craft random ones at the celestial smiths would allow targeting of specific item categories which should improve things a bit (and avoid questions like who is Daega and and why does she leave her clothes lying around everywhere?).

it’s so strange, i could have sworn i’d seen the smiths returned epics instead of legends on Elite, but nope, still 94 legends there after double checking 
They do for characters below a certain level (58?) even in ultimate.
I was thinking more along the lines of adding a separate option to craft epics with the same categories that are available for legendary items.
