Today I learned, that devotion skills scale from player damage, even if they are placed on a minion skill.
For example, you can place “Falcon Swoop” on a “Raise skeletons”, but it will still scale from player damage.
When I started playing GD a lot of years ago, I loved that you can shoot one bullet and a bunch of different stuff happens: meteors, volcanoes, waves of fire, all hell breaks loose from one lucky bullet.
HOWEVER, thats not what happens when you play minions: they can have some of their abilities and you can scale their damage, but thats it.
And I think it would be cool if devs slapped some minion scaling on existiong constellations with active damage skills and changed it so those skills would scale from minion damage if you assign them to minion skills.
this is not true, it scales with Pet’s dmg, including total modifiers, and even pet’s conversion
true pets effectively own bound devos, including healing effects
only minions that confer player dmg scaling to bound devos are player scaled pets, because they use player stats
*keep in mind there might be a difference what you see on tooltip, vs actual game/application effect (one of them normal/common tooltip quirks in GD)
it’s not “lying” per se, just unable to “tell the whole truth and nothing but the applicable truth” depending on the circumstances
you have similar issue with some player effects in skill tree etc
Its better to have lying UI then to not have the feature at all I guess
It still feels like its not ideal in some cases.
For example, if i want to go for fire skeletons (i saw a blade that converts all their damage to fire) and pick Magi and Ulzuins Torch constellations for volcanoes and meteors, I will miss out on a lot of points that dont scale minions at all just to get them.
While on the bottom-right there is a lot of bleed constellations that scale both player and minion damage at the same time. Top-left part of the tree is pretty lacking in minion department as well.
Considering we DO have scaling feature, now all Im asking is to fix tooltips and add some minion skaling effects to more constellations
