advice on Grava'thul

Hi, just an advice.

I was trying to fight the aforementioned nemesis with a poison witch hunter with the following stats

2900+ oa w/o procs
close to 2400 DA without wayward soul proc (then over 2500)
1800 armor 98% armor absorb
10500 hp
550 hp regen before giant’s blood

I try to stay close to him to prevent him from shooting the red balls, but he still one-shots me all the time (i think with his normal attacks, is like a dark-wave arc :/). I don’t unterstand: the character is just too weak? I beaten him before several times with my aether warlock with inferior Armor and DA (of course in that case i only let him come near when i have mirror activated)… can’t figure out the problem, maybe too low hp to stai in close combat range. But then, you cannot kite him anyway ^^

I think your hp is too low. His damage in melee is still nuts and you might need the same number after his hp reduction aura, so 14-15K base. Not affordable for a witch hunter, I know.

DA is also on the low side, it can work if you reduce his OA (veil of shadow?). Hower the pointer over your DA in the panel after the fight to see if he can crit you.

You need at least 2700 DA to keep him from critting. Also 10k hp is way too low for him because his aura reduces your hp by 25% (my Tactician has 16k and it’s reduced to 12k), so you’ll probably have around 7,5k.

His melee attacks can also pack quite a punch (pun not intended). He also uses the red homing ball even you are just a little far away from melee range.

I get it… but this thing is just broken IMHO.

I realize is not a top tier build or anything the one i’m using, but still this is a char that can defeat with ease any other nemesis in game (have not meet Kupa yet and now i’m certain i will be one-shotted instantly). Can kill good old fabius in 15-20 sec without taking any risk or payin particular attention.

how can there be this much difference between nemesis bosses? ^^

I’m really discouraged right now after something like 20 runs

Havent you noticed, that ALL AoM content is very overtuned. Enemies and bosses in AoM have few times more HP pools, and deal few times more damage than ones in “normal” content. I’d rather compared “normal” content in Ultimate with “AoM” content in Epic, makes it more fair comparison.
And AoM content in Ultimate is in fact “next-level” difficulty, above Ultimate.

Your performance VS “normal” nemesises isnt worth a shit in AoM, because AoM nemesises have several times more HP and damage.

Honestly guys - it should be like that. Ultimate pre-AoM was a snooze fest baring for a few obscure builds.

AoM is the “endgame” and especially Nemesis should not be speed killed like good old Fabius.

What i would like to see is upping considerably the loot from the new Nemesis hence it corresponds to the challenge, but they should not be nerfed in a considerable way, perhaps a very small and minor dmg nerf but nothing with impact.

You should be still challenged by Grava even with BiS lvl 100 character.

I certainly won’t argue on that, yet my opinion is that between a “very challenging boss” and a “sistematic insta-one-shot boss” there should be a middle-ground.

That stats posted above may be very crappy, but still is a character equipped with all mythtical items and some respectable lev. 94 greens. Not every character can be a tank or demi-tank with 15k+ HP…

BTW, i tried respeccing the skills to add a lot more defensive ability, but still instant one-shot with mere physical attacks. This way i can’t even try to put to some use the good amount of life steal, that is serving me very well in most of the other situations.

Pretty sad

  1. 12k Effective HP and 2700 effective DA is mandatory Adjust these stats with devotions .
  2. Use 2 Black tallons for 12% multiplicative dmg reduction.
  3. Use Olreon blood skill 20% dmg reduction.
  4. Max Shadow dance . If you manage to stack at least 40% dodge it would help a lot.
  5. Fumble aslo help a lot.
Shouldnt be a hard fight for WH. Use your heal only after double-slash atcks.

Get the DA up, and the crits won’t happen, removing the 1 shots. You may still fail, but you can’t complain when your DA is too low.

The problem is, “hello kitty” old content still drops mythical legendaries in abundance (Croley HO and Twin Falls wasps are still ones of the best places to farm legs outside of crucible - where you also face non-AoM content too).
While new endgame “prepare to die” content has very poor hero density, tons of trash mobs with huge HP, that arent worth to kill (Ugdenbog golems, yeti’s, flesh hulks…), etc.
Even if you needed to farm Ugdenbloom for AoM crafts, you should just repetively run on certain route skipping most mobs and looting Rotting Stumps…
Farming AoM content and killing enemies isnt rewarded properly at all! Ok, mobs are tough and hit hard… Why dont make them drop 3-5 times more loot as well? Why dont make Ugdenblooms drop from that nasty hulking golems, rather than from harmless Stumps? Why dont make final boss drop better loot? Farming him seems like a complete waste of time!

My Forcewave Witchblade can clear all AoM content easily, except Nemesises/Ravager, and with certain skill and luck, can deal with Nemesises too. I dont complain about difficulty, i complain that it isnt rewarded at all.
