I’ve been theorycrafting for a while and was thinking about creating a warlock build which mostly relies upon chaos damage. With a plethora of melee characters, I’m actually in the mood of playing a spell caster for a change again. Unfortunately, it seems that there is barely any, if any at all, conversion of aether damage to chaos damage, whereas the opposite, that is, chaos to aether, does exist. I’m not in the mood of using AAR again, even though it has a 100% conversion modifier. I’d rather use Possession than Reckless Power, but if there is too little conversion of aether to chaos, it wouldn’t make sense, of course, and thus the basic point of the build I have in mind would be moot. Clairvoyant’s set does the opposite of what I’m looking for, as does Albrecht’s Duality. I spent the better part of an hour going through all the current legendary sets and singular legendary items, but alas, none seem to support my ideas. There are a few items converting fire to chaos, but that’s not what I had in mind, either, though still better than nothing, I suppose.
Perhaps I have it all wrong, however, and there are some items that convert aether to chaos (in large portions, I’d hope). Any ideas or suggestions?
I used the search function on Graceful Dusk before I wrote my post and came up empty-handed. That’s why I wrote my post in the first place, but thank you nonetheless!
I went through all the sets and singular items in hope of finding at least some items that may be combined to reach something around 100% conversion, but it seems, even 50% would be an unrealistic goal right now. After roughly 5.2k hours, I have almost everything except a couple of items that keep eluding me, such as Infernal Knight’s Pauldrons or Warborn Pauldrons. Instead, the game keeps spamming me with the same stuff over and over. I’ve blown up more Dawnguard, Myrmidon, and Blind Assassin set pieces than anyone could count. That’s why I was wondering whether there might be any items I haven’t found that might just do what I was looking for.
That’s because graceful dusk requires you to type in what the item says exactly to get anything back and is almost incapable of understanding phrases. Just use grimtools, it’s way better.
I just tried “aether damage converted” and it did show Mantle of the Black Flame. I’m unsure why the first research did not work, but yeah gracefuldusk is outdated anyway.
Graceful Dusk is outdated. I’d recommend using Grimtool’s database instead. As a couple of others mentioned, Aether to Chaos conversation is pretty much limited to the Black Flame shoulders. Your other option is using Blood Orb of Chthon to convert 100% elemental to chaos, which lets you use the rest of the Arcanist’s arsenal.
