Thanks a lot!
cool, I want to try this one! If the gloves didnât stick out a s much, the style would be top notch
What about attriubte point allocation - all physique?
Affecting changes from 1.0.0.8 to the Ultos set should be minor I guess, or anything else Iâve missed?
-TY, lol donât worry youâre eyes would be blinded by the pure awesomeness of Green Lightning
-All Physique except for some points for jewellery
-The basic concept is the same, i am already using BiS on most of those builds so regardless of the changes there is no change from my side to any of my builds so i wonât bother updating anything.
thatâs cool with me. I am simply paranoid I mightâve missed something profound. Yeah I noticed I need around +/- 10-15 points invested in spirit (depending on the class and gear and if I take the dryad devotion or not).
Canât wait to see that green lightning!! (usually only see yellow flashes all day cause I am gaming too much)
Thanks for the reply and sharing your builds.
Hey, I went ahead and reverse engineered your build based on the items suggested. Please check the Grim Calc link to verify. It leaves you with 2 points extra to do with as you wish.
I looked at what items gave what +skills and what the set gave as well. It should be accurate.
Edit: Link
https://grimcalc.com/build/1008-w9xtje -Build w/o +skills (no devotion points added)
Umm, thanks. I will check it and confirm it
2 extra points?
I was wondering if vortex of souls wouldnât be a viable second weapon for this build, adding another layer of flexibility to it (meaning ranged attacks simply by using weapon swap). I am still leveling so it is too early for me to try.
I wanted to ask - how do you get these green lightning strikes anyway? Is it from an item or a devotion?
Cheers!
I assume youâre referring to Primal Strike Vortex of Souls, i have never tried it myself but sounds like a cool idea.
But weapon swapping is tedious also, youâd loose the cool green lightning that is granted to us by Temporal Arcblade

I did not consider primal strike, but was thinking of the concept of aether damage applied to the shaman. We canât use it paired with savagery?
Maybe vortex of souls would work better with a druid?
But that means sacrificing the chaos damage entirely, CoF and some attack speed and offensive power/heal from blood of dreeg.
The ring setup would be useless as well but may free up other options? Maybe it would still be as effective with reckless power and maivens sphere, but I donât know how to make up for curse of frailty. The lack in offensive power could be compensated with another pair of rings, but I am not sure if it is an overall dps gain or loss and if it would be fun to play.
I enjoy theory crafting, but probably still lack the means (gear and knowledge) to pull off a concept like this in Grim Dawn.
My biggest issue here might be to make a comparison and to draw a conclusion. It may look like a good idea on paper but suck ingame.
Thanks for the hint with temporal arcblade, I was wondering what do you think of a runestone applied to your build?
I know the conversion to chaos may be contra productive but actually I wonder if it is even applied, if the bonus of both rings converting chaos to aether is still bigger than 100% ? Either way I really enjoy the utility I gain from it, at least while leveling it is super useful for melee!
You can use it with Savagery but it works wonders with AoE skills. 100% Chance to pass through means Primal Strikeâs AoE should theoretically hit every target on the map
If youâre focus is full aether then Druid Vortex of Souls Primal Strike is good but the problem is Druid lacks so much attack speed that it isnât even funny
Still doable and should be good
Maivenâs is a bad idea, Mirror on the other hand
Whatâs a runestone?
pardon me, I meant riftstone with chaosstrike.
Primal strike with vortex of souls sounds interesting, but maybe staying with your build is better then? Temporal Arcblade may be even better, I was just curious about the weapon.
I am not a big Primal Strike fan since the way it functions irks me. Itâs basically should be a lightning version of Fire Strike but unlike FS where the modifier Explosive Strike contributes to both AoE and single target DPS i am told primal strikeâs modifier only adds to AoE but doesnât do anything in single target
Itâs a good weapon and you can use this build to make Vortex of Souls Primal Strike build. I prefer the cool looking Green Lightning
guess it may be better for firestrike but that defeats the purpose of shaman maybe. I donât mind really, I wanted to have the lightning when I saw your screenshot so I am happy with this
Lol, youâll get it. Temporal Arcblade is totally worth the wait imo
Fire Strike VoS is great i am still uncertain about Primal Strike mechanics so canât comment on it
I wish they added attack speed The Progenitor it would help my Aether Lightning Saboteur get a cool proc
thanks, I really look forward to it, should be there within the next few days. Have to collect more iron and to get lucky with Etram too.
Iâd advice against Etram unless you have too much to spare
do you know better ways to get some epic loot quick? Sure it is expensive but the chance to get something out is 100%, of course it is random but it has a chance to turn out better as well (cause of his enchanting powers).
Itâs like gambling with Gheed. I only do it when i have enough resources
Do it if you want to
Man , I just wish it wasnât Ultos
My first char 6 months ago was an Ultos build , I have played 700 hours and still not one piece dang it
Oh well , back to farming âŚ
