Aetherchaos. What's the point?!

Been puzzling me for awhile. There’s a lot of gear with both +%aether and +%chaos and even Fabric of Reality. What it’s supposed to be for? Is there some trick with interaction of Tainted Power AAR and %chaos to aether on Clairvoyant? Because if there’s not then I don’t understand what it’s for. Aether is a neat damage type on many cool spells, while chaos always was always paired with either Fire or Vitality, and aetherchaos gear typically doesn’t provide +%vitality. The only use I can personally see is to utilize Blood Orb of Chthon to convert everything elemental in arcanist mastery into chaos. But it’s hardly justifies the abundance of gear :undecided:

Am I missing something?

Its so that both aether and chaos builds can use the gear or use fabric of reality. Also the gear is good for blood rite builds that convert all elemental damage into chaos. So you can do chaos/aether callidors tempest/devastation builds

Yet almost all of the +PRM/+CT gear is aetherfire or aether/elemental.
Most of the aetherchaos gear is biased towards AAR and Doombolt, so I was thinking what’s the general idea behind this. To support AAR with Doom Bolt? Well, I’ve got Devastation.
