kinda makes me think how much genuine passionate vid game devs studio like crate earned overall compared to them companies that use lootbox mtx slot machine-ish mechanism in their games…

nah, not unless it gets adopted outside the EU market too, and even then it will likely still be a thing because too profitable in asia etc
but more importantly, even if the EU ends up adopting lootbox/gacha regulation, (probably wont happen), companies will just try to “skirt” the rules as much as technically possible/go as close to and right up to the fine line in the sand the rules made
or they will find other avenues to legally nickle and dime players to still make the gaming experience worse to squeeze as much money out of us for the “service” they provide
yeah i added the og mmobyte vid link. i originally take the asmongold one because i want to share the perspective of your typical popular casual fan of blizzard games on this recent global fiasco stemming from diablo immoral’s criminal lootboxy system.
i’m not sure how big the european market is compared to asian ones, but if this banning lootboxy gacha mmos become real in europe, at least it would force western vid game megacompanies to not imitate china-korea’s awful mmorpg lootboxy gacha mtx system that preys on gullible children-teenager-dumb adults’ wallet with mediocre gameplays that turns their game into casino machines.
i admit i kinda enjoy watching all this diablo immoral lootbox disaster happened while munching my snacks. all them whales sinking their wallets to see experience this torture is just too amusing to not be watched (sadly its also tragic for vid game industry).
