I changed my volumes during gameplay. Set the music to zero. After reloading the saved game, I can again hear the music. When going to the settings, the volume is set to zero. And at that point the volume is going to zero as well. But before going to the volume settings, the volume is not zero until the point when I’m getting into that menu item. So the volume settings are not loaded on gaming load.
Bumped…rather than reposting the same issue
I have the same issue - specifically when music has been set to zero - then exiting to main menu the music returns. In the main menu, even if you go to settings and can see the music is set to zero, the music remains at full volume, but if I load or start a new settlement - as soon as I open the audio from the in game menu it suddenly registers the music volume as zero.
i have to ask but others posted about this and most didn’t realize that you set the volume and then close the window. They all kept hitting the bottom right button thinking they were APPLYING the new settings but that button actually sets everything to the default settings which means music is loud again etc…
Not sure I totally understand what you meant…a me problem probably! The volume set to zero has applied in game (no music) - but after you exit to the main menu it returns again, and when you re-enter the game and then navigate to the settings - the music slider is still set to zero and suddenly the music cuts out again registering the setting.
If its a case of not applying each time, then I guess the “bug” would instead be the volume slider still showing zero even though it hasn’t applied? It displays as fully to the left hand side, (even in the main menu settings), even though the music plays at full volume.
Only “in-game” does the music cut out when navigating to the audio settings pause menu. In the main menu the music continues even after navigating to the settings/audio and seeing the slider to the far left.
Hi Groovy, I’m not sure how better I can describe it as I did.
- Go to settings, set the music to zero (then you do not hear any music). And then click on the right button, so you can keep playing the game without listening (hearing) any music.
- Save the game, close the game completely.
- Start the game again, and load the previous game you where playing.
- The music starts to play, and you hear the music (but… you previously set the volume to zero).
- Go to the settings again, and you see the music is set to zero, and at that exact moment the music volume is going to to zero. And you cannot hear any music.
Thus. When loading a game (savegame), the game is not respecting your volume setting.
yeah that has never happened to me here. So i posted what others ran into.
When I go to settings and then audio and set the volumes I set them then hit the close x box and they stick. (do not hit anything else) If you hit the button that says something like “Set to Default” many players thought that meant set the default to what they just set the settings to but it doesn’t. It reverts to the game default so you lose your settings and you will never see that happen slider wise because the sliders to not move. So you go back to the main menu or exit game and play later and the volume is loud again.
your situation seems different
“And then click on the right button, so you can keep playing the game without listening (hearing) any music.”
what right button? what is the name of that button? if you hit the right button at the bottom “Set to default” you just reset to defaults and what is happening to you is exactly what is supposed to happen. Next launch of game you are at the game defaults NOT what you set the game to.
set the loudness sliders then close the window via the X box
