Albrecht's Aether Ray needs ADCtH mod on one of the relevant gear pieces

Of course they had to put it on a MI, couldn’t be something easy

Edit: should probably add some reasons besides the snark. Putting this on a MI that you can get from exactly one boss in the campaign and the port valbury merchant, man. Why not put it on one of the fleshwarped tomes in malmouth that drop like crazy? Ugh.

Actually, it’s something to work with. It’s shame 4 piece Iskandra + Aetherbolt Pendant is not an option any more though, but still good news.

Sweet, I’m just leveling an AAR spellbinder (first hardcore char), and I guess this 6% ADCTH will help a lot! I was already using pulsing shard anyway (and planning to keep it).

If you are playing with trading, I would not recommend playing AAR Spellbinder as a hardcore character, uh-huh.

I’m not playing with trading. Why wouldn’t you recommend it?

Edit: And why only if I’m trading? If I’m trading, it’s easier to get the items I need, so did you mean if I’m not trading?

You said in the OP that AAR spellbinder became viable except missing ADCTH, so now it should be even more viable. And I’m not even planning to go to crucible by the way. I’m perfectly happy with finishing main campaigns on ultimate, doing roguelike dungeons and maybe killing some nemesis.

+1. I made a similar proposal before, so I completely agree.

Monster Infrequent - Pulsing Shard: added 6% Attack Damage Converted to Health modifier for Albrecht’s Aether Ray

so there we go

https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8551 there’s this, it’s not listed on grimtools yet but

Edit: Beaten to it.

Not a relevant gear piece? Greens are forbidden to use

jk: I think it is pretty cool change

I’m 99.9% sure that someone will complain over the fact that it is on a green item.

However it drops quite often, Off-hand affixes have been quite improved over time and you can combine this mod with %wd mod. I think it’s fair

yeah its like 60-70% drop chance from Amalgamation if I remember correctly. Long way to walk/run to farm it though. But it drops plenty in Crucible.

I am fine with green items, they are fun to farm if u ask me.

Best gear for ARR already included greens (Flashwarped Tome).

Ok now you need to choose which off-hand you like more - Pulsing Shard or Fleshwarped Tome

Yet many GT’s avoid it like the plague as not using green seems to be some concept of honor in GD for a while now

As long as the green item do not need to have double rare affixes, and or is shoppable / “easy” to farm I think its ok.

Builds with double Alkamos etc are “ok”.

I remember this thread with “no green item” builds. So many of them would be better with any green MI even without affixes :stuck_out_tongue: (and some green faction item too)

Someone somewhere decided that a build with a couple greens loses credibility somehow and that is not ok imo. Since this is the trend i try to post a no green GT too simply because people ask about it over and over.

But the truth is greens drop like candy now and will drop even more in FG. It’s not like vanilla any more.

No lets try to break the trend!

As I said, as long as “we” dont use insane double rare MI’s it should be fine.

Like the “old” AAR tome you can shop at Hyram for instance.

Green items are an integral part of the game and the base MI’s have much higher drop rates than any leg so

It was more of response to double-green silliness, I think. Originally most combos were statistically almost-impossible to find. The MIs are not hard to find, by comparison - and often are easier to find then a specific legendary.

In the guides, builders just need to use some reasonable combo (double-magic, perhaps?) that fits with the rest of the gear…or a green with no affixes in the base recommended gear. (imho)

There is a bit of a double standard though, as legendaries such as +5 BoMs or conduits with specific suffixes are just as pita. Or relics with specific skill bonuses.

Shard is to Tome what Tome used to be to Shard. Every AAR build will be using the Shard.

Yep. I’ve noticed. I think it started mid 1.0.6.1.

Totally agreed. 10chars
