Albrecht's Aether Ray needs ADCtH mod on one of the relevant gear pieces

It was kind of in response to people who posted builds with like three near impossible double rares, that got old to me at least. I like my builds sort of realistic.

Also, in case anyone was using AAR with the black flame set, I guess now they’re not

Edit: anyone else annoyed that at max level you still find lvl 84 versions of MI? Kind of bugs me, even though for things like this shard it hardly matters.

Well at least some non-green builds are equally “impossible”

I dont care if my builds are impossible or not, if I drop a godly double rare MI I would use it if possible.

But sharing builds here I would not like to do it.

Yes, I agree. High lifesteal on a MI is a reasonable trade-off with what other off-hands can offer, such as RR or native casting speed.

To be fair, most of the hostility towards “green” builds didn’t seem to stem from the odd monster infrequent, but rather the old trend of throwing in a pair of Impossible Boots of I Spent Ten Hours Crafting to cover a bar and a half of resistances. :stuck_out_tongue:

I feel Conduits are worse offenders now, but that’s another topic entirely.

I don’t see any trend here, just couple people write about this around the forum, so no reason count this like a some direction in build design.
Additional link is ok for diversity like sign of skill, but not more.
I even know people who call build with legendaries “impossible”

Many prominent builds like Vertranga and mad_lee uses “no green” as some kind of mantra.

Yea, but two persons not all community.

they do so because uniques are easier to get than MIs with specific affixes, so it is easier to replicate the build

Well, with trading and a new ADCtH mod on Pulsing shards you are going to be fine in Campaign. But if you choose to go Shards for example - you might have some problems with survivability. That’s all I am saying.

Conduits are relatively cheap to craft. I think any player that just finished Ultimate with just one char can farm 6-7 Conduits with the mats he has (if he has a recepie).

That is why one could post such builds if

  1. only magic affixes

  2. no affix should give insane resistances or shit

  3. MI’s that can be shopped is “easy” to “farm” and could be included whatsoever.

Regarding conduit amulets:

the affix variation on conduits is like 45? (9 prefixes, 5 suffixes)

So to get a certain pre+suffix you need to craft about 3x45 = 135 of them to be 95% sure to get at least one of them.

If only prefix (skill modifier matters) you need to craft about 3x9 = 27 of them to be 95% sure to get at least one of them.

Plus you need the freaking BP, and it is pretty common that ppl complain about BP drops

fml

It absolutely is a trend and it’s been like this since the beginnings of AOM

Or just farm… a big part of the game is about farming items if you ask me.

Lmao I definitely experienced that too, tho some builds really benefit from all purple setups for current cruci cause barbaros/tranquil mind are soo good.

Ummm. I crafted a Seraphim Stoneplate Greaves of Ulzuin’s Flame the other day. I will use it on builds I will post that will involve fire retaliation. That’s just monstrous on things like acid Aegis or Hellborne RF. I don’t care if no other one gets it. I’ll use it and post it if the build is good enough to be posted.

It’s when cruci became easier. Coincidence? I think not. Once we go to realms and there are no buffs that will overcap your resists for you then we’ll see more builds with greens.

Vere sure doesn’t use greens but mad_lee only had no green builds on his GDstashed chars. Pretty sure his legit chars (i.e. the first few builds he posted) had greens wherever he needed them.

Then what is point of posting builds, getting bigger e-peen?

ML outright stated that he save-crafts. So while his knowledge is great, his status of legit base-game-rolls gear is in question to me. I think this pedestal has fallen for no-GD stash/crafting/etc. Once you start down that path, trading is irrelevant. (tbf, trading is basically just another form of modding, though.).

I mean I GDstash my noob builds for demonstration/teaching purposes

I have no time to do both guides and my regular gameplay

If you can craft it, it is not a MI…

I did have some greens in my first builds but I updated most of my guides with no greens setups as well.

I do save-craft. But only legendaries and relics that I use on my own characters - to get most favourable rolls.

I never save-craft green boots though, because I sell them and because that would break a game for me.

Well of course, every build has its limits and on hardcore I will have to be more conservative and careful where I go.

But I don’t get how trading and ADCTH will impact my survivability negatively. If anything, those things should improve it.

I was referring to the conduit amulets. sorry. I edited that post for clarity.
