Aleksander stopped spawning?

Hi there,

I registered just now to ask a few questions about the nemesis system (damn, that sounds like I’m about to start fighting Orcs) in general in the hope to get some clarification about this in the headline teasered problem of mine.

If there is already a topic that deals with it, I’m sorry and seriously lacking in searching skills.

After farming Aleksander for about fifty times (maybe a little bit less, but not by much) with one character, he seems to have stopped spawning.

My route was Crown Hill – Infestation - Fleshworks – Crown Hill to enter the steelcap from the northern side – Steelcap till Lighthouse – Lighthouse – rest of steelcap – repeat.

I always checked all locations in the areas mentioned in this thread, even though some of them appeared dead for me. In those about fifty runs there were a few spots were he spawned 5-6 times and 6 spots were he spawned not once /showthread.php?t=60692 (can’t post links because of the postcount restriction)

And of those runs there were only two in which I didn’t encounter him at all. That is what defined that route, because I always encountered him in the first 10-15 runs during this route and twice in the last location of the steelcap destrict. When I didn’t met him for the first time, I didn’t bother to continue the search, because of the vast amount of locations still open in candle, sewers and outskirts.

I have a theory why that might have worked like that. I think the game does not roll the spawn dice upon entering the session but upon entering each location. On a different character I aquired the nemesis status with the cthonians in the necroprolis and after entering the inner necropolis I encountered Benn’Jhar in the same session. So – in theory – if you run enough spawns you have a high chance of encountering him (okay, that’s obvious), but you can control the sucession of the areas for which the nemesis dice is rolled. I you start the run in crown hill, we will not be instandly placed in the sewers of the cellars.

That’s the first thing that I just wanted to put out there, It’s just an observation, maybe it’s helpful, maybe not.

Now to my problem: After I haven’t encountered him 4 times in a row after those mentioned 50 runs I’ve checked on every spawn location mentioned in the post above in two sessions and he just wasn’t there.

Two complete runs are not that much and maybe It’s just amazingly bad luck, but before I sink a few hours into running again, to verify that: Has anyone encountered the same thing? Is this a known problem? The PC Grim Dawn is running on, is not connected to the internet for a few weeks now and that is pretty much the only thing that has changed of the course of that running. I don’t see how that could have anything to do with it, but maybe that’s some weird grim dawn quirk. Is this a bug, or am I just missing something? Was I just insanely lucky before?

Thoughts and ideas are very much appreciated.

Oh, and english isn’t my first language, so I’m sorry for everything that is confusing here.

I just did quite a few runs last week myself. In the beginning, I went through all the spots that are mentioned in a post, which is the probably the one you were linking to.

I did that for about 10-15 runs, and there was one run that I actually couldn’t find Aleksander. My thoughts were that the map for nemesis location are probably not 100% complete, so I stopped doing full runs afterwards.

I started doing part-run only, skipping place Fleshwork.

Anyway, my conclusion is that the nemesis map is not 100% complete, and there are probably other spots where Aleksander can spawn.

Most likely missing some spawn points because Nemeses always spawn in one of their designated spawn points in each game session.
