I’m on the hunt for the legendary Alkamos rings and am starting to lose hope that I’ll get them. After about 20 runs I have only seen the rare scythe. How many runs did it take others to get one? Were you seeing other items drop when doing the runs?

Make sure you are lvl 70+ or you have zero chance. And to drop either ring the chance is pretty darn low. 
After 20 runs i only have gotten 2 soul rends so far

I have done about 20 Run of SoT
A dozen BoC and Port Valubary
And for those around 45 Rogue Dungeon I have gotten…well Vital Essence if I remember the name right (the poor version of Food Ration actually) and that’s it. Either I’m extremely unlucky or you have been REALLY lucky.
To note none of those run have been done Solo and nobody mentionned anything elese than Nothing after killing a boss either they are lying or between 100 and 120 Boss Kill gave exactly 0 drop.
Allegedly, the second set ring drops for max level characters now, too.
I have yet to see a single one.
I dismantle Soulrends (rend, Soulrends?) like they were last year’s fall fashions, and Alkamos’s Dread… has become MY dread, every time a ring pops out of him. 
What are the best resistances to max for him , also is there anything else special I should be doing . I always have trouble with him , constantly running from his pools and nearly always lose most of my hp’s after 1 hit when he teleports .
The whole thing has me running around like Benny hill for the whole encounter and thats why I always just do him once or try to on each char on each difficulty .
I remember once shadow striking has I entered the room , I instantly died lol .
So any tips would be greatly appreciated , thanks .
Cold is the best to max, but my advice is don’t run away from him. Most of his damage comes from his shadow strike (the teleport attack), just circle around him to avoid his cold puddle. Without his shadow strike, his damage is really puny.
He deals mainly Cold and Physical Damage. Depending on his weapon spawn, there can be other Damage Types mixed in too. As for his skills, his Shadow Strike and Rimefire deal massive Cold Damage and he spams those alot. He also can buff himself up and debuffs your OA. Plus, he can freeze you.
Regarding this, you want capped Cold Resistance and solid damage to kill him as fast as possible.
Just to make you a bit jealous, I did a total of 13 SoT runs and found both his Rings and his Scythe on top. RNGesus was smiling on me that day. Did my daily prayers though.
I don’t know what his actual dropchances are (mb some dataminer might help you here), but usually, it takes about 40 to 50 runs to find a certain mob’s Legendary Item.

After 80 sharz runs, ending with that is a disappointing weapon, I am a long way from summoning up the patience to do SOT runs.
Wait you mean to tell me you don’t have the rings/scythe?
Did around 50 BoC runs before I realised, that I don’t really want/need that weapon. :rolleyes:
Sigils of the Executioner are really worth the keys though, if you run a Cold based Nighblade build.
Shar’Zul’s Weapon’s Granted Skill is extremely underwhelming. I’d still take Brimstone over it any day especially considering Etram Fad himself can grant me that weapon for a hefty price which is worth it with the perfect rolls of OA :rolleyes:
Yeah. Even though I’ve just read about how bad the skill is. On paper, it looks decent! Lower CD, more projectiles and higher damage than Internal Brimstone. Just missing the OA on the Worldeater.
Casting it is PITA
Brimstone procs itself and yes the weapon itself is good the skill is donkey shit
