Started off the game and didn’t get everything I needed before winter. Winter came and killed all my colonists. Game kept going like I still had people. Seems like a bug to me since if they all die, its game over.
is it though? If you can hang in there a few years more peeps will show up. It is not like you need food since no one is alive lol Never been in that situation so I’m only speculating lol
No, because you need food and housing to attract new immigrants to join you.
This is something that has been mentioned a new times, but I suspect is something that’ll only be “fixed” nearer to full release of the game. Meanwhile, just reroll/restart the map.
well i just tried it and peeps showed up so it I was correct
You didn’t read what I said. I didn’t say you have no food I said you do not NEED food.
Thus what ever food you have is still there. I also didn’t say you have no houses. I said you
need to just hang in there a few years with whatever you had when the last peep died. What
did you think hang in there meant? lol If they all died then you have food and houses available
and thus if you can HANG IN THERE before food runs out and houses go boom peeps do show up.
Like I said I just tested it and I had them show up the very next year.
If my villagers die in the first year I’ve never had any housing built before they’re gone. I have tried waiting a little while, but not several years to see if anyone shows up, but with no housing …
Guess it would work if you have both food and housing available. Just depends if you want to wait those several years for new immigrants or just restart your map again.
Yea, once they are dead, I wasn’t planning on waiting any longer to restart. Maybe if there was a bonus or some difficulty level unlocked to keep going but if not, then why wait.
Good starting maps can be tricky to find.
If I found a map that had everything I need, a good layout for defense, and flat area for my town, I’d rather save the map and wait than reroll another dozen times.
No need though if you choose Restart rather than Reroll. Restart does what it says - starts you again on the same map seed. Reroll on the other hand will roll you a new map seed.
Sorry my bad grammar, I use the word reroll in my head when I make a new start.
I’d rather wait because I take a long time picking what map I’d like to start on.
Besides I am not much on giving up what I start.
