i played 22 hours according to steam… i played a Commando lvl 19 (finished the alpha) and a witchblade lvl 15.
i have 12 blues and 11 greens, but i definitely bought two of the greens and 2 of the blue ones i got twice!
maybe i was a little bit lucky!
i did no warden runs! i love walking around the area of the burrwitch outskirts! there are a lot different rare mobs! (boss monster)
and i got very lucky with the grave or shrine or whatever it is! i definitely got there 2 greens with both characters!
I have another question about the Set-Items that will be implemented later.
A few of the green items i got are very good. It’s the same like in TQ.
I don’t know if i am the only one with this problem… but i was always sad, when i got a really nice good looking set and had to replace it with green (much better) items. The greens are just not good looking=) i love to dress my character good looking… and some of the greens back in TQ very just some ugly clubs with the best stats to get…
How will it be in GD? I hope some Set-Items will be usable for the End-Content!
After around 20 ish hours of gametime, one lvl 25 farming char + 3/4 others, i had around 30 greens and maybe 15ish blues, hard to remember as i didn t keep them all because of the lack of storage.
I really think the drop rates are fine so far. Good general pace regarding high color items.
Steam 18 hours played, 4 blues and an untallied green count, though I believe it to be at least 5+, because I have (and had) 4 equipped and I remember replacing one of them with another green.
Two of my favorite green items I have equipped are both from the Warden, his mace and shield actually. His mace grants an on-attack skill called “Ice Spike”, which is basically added ice damage to the first hit and following hits between regular intervals.
The shield, which goes beyond the awesomeness of the mace’s Ice Spike, grants a skill activated on taking damage called “Sands of Nox”, which “puts enemies to sleep” by knocking them down. This actually has covered my behind many times since I got it, as Sands of Nox has activated when I’m about to be hit to hell by tough enemies (like the mutants).
By far my most interesting item though is a blue coat, Gunslinger’s Jacket, which has one of the most interesting stats I’ve seen so far (dexterity? Hunting?). I’ll let my screenshot fill you in (also attached are my green Warden’s items screenshots).
And that’s just the thing… maybe D3 had conditioned me, but I haven’t felt that there was a lack of drops of blue/greens at all despite the fact I seem to be at the low end of the scale in terms of drop amount. I get really excited when I see blue mainly because I haven’t seen many of them… and the itemization on the yellows make the yellow drops interesting. I’ve spent a lot of time just going over yellow drops
Pyromancer lvl25 (~16hours): finished at lvl19, then farmed Warden + Depraved Sanctuary, total of 10 blues. Tons of greens, didn’t really count but maybe ~50.
Farming Warden alone yields on average ~1 blue per run (20min) so 3 blues per hour. Very satisfactory imho.
Witchblade lvl16 (~6hours): finished at lvl16, no farming, 2 blues. Some greens, maybe ~10.
Overall I’m very happy with the drop rates, and a big thumps up for the quality of blues/greens, especially the blues. Almost all of them made me jump for joy (something that rarely happened with the epics in TQ)
1 playthrough with minimal farming (i.e. resuming after crashes / bugs like killing a quest monster not being recognized) got me about 5-6 green and 4-5 blues (two of which dropped from the Warden). Must have been something like 10 - 12 hours, level 20.
My other two chars are now level 15 and have not found a single blue yet (while the first one found the first at 13).
15 Hours played, lvl 21 Soldier
I farmed the final zone of Alpha and killed warden maybe 6 times and all the orange bosses before him
12 greens
10 Blues
Rerolling now since patch 9 came out… At lvl 11 and maybe 1 blue and 1 green so far.
Based on the responses and my own thoughts and observance, I am going to guess that blues generally don’t start appearing until levels hit upper teens?? Wondering if this was intended by the developers or just the way it has worked out so far?
Did you guys tweak drop rates in build 9? Because suddenly I’m finding a lot more greens (maybe too many?) and a few more blues. Maybe the RNG didn’t like me calling it out
My Occultist is almost dressed in greens now at level 17 (no farming of bosses… no reclearing of areas).
Yea no sooner did I post that, then I start getting several more drops quickly. Dunno. Maybe just luck.
Overall I’m satisfied both with the drop rates and the itemization. While I might not need or want a green/blue, its stats are not utterly worthless like many are in D3. The gear is solid, just not always useful for the current toon. But great twink gear.
Actually, even the yellow multi-affix gear I find is great, so hard to swap it out with green/blues, at least just yet.
17 hours played with a little farming on my lvl 22 Commando and on still working on my lvl 14 occultist. 12 greens and 4 blues have dropped so far. My lowest requires lvl 11.
I enjoyed that the blues seemed to all come from different locations. Bosses dropped 2, a box I kicked open had another and random mob dropped the last. I also liked that each green and blue looked useful even if it was not good for the class I was playing at the moment.
