Hey guys. Numbers are obviously still being tuned, but I’d like to hear some of your experiences with our drop rates so far.
What I’m looking for in particular is how many green quality (rares) and blue quality (epics) items you have been getting and over how many hours played.
A ballpark is fine, but the more info you provide, the better. Bonus points for a breakdown by time played and levels.
That’s everything green/blue that I’ve had drop for me in the game so far… my first playthrough I finished at level 17, my current playthrough I’m level 14. Steam is showing 33 hours played total.
I have not farmed a boss specifically yet… all the above was dropped on a single playthrough of each area of the game. I do explore the entire map when I play, but I do not go back to areas I’ve explored to re-clear.
The blue shield dropped for the level 17 toon near the end of the game, the blue helm dropped for my 2nd character very early in the game for her (EDIT - must have been at least level 10, because I equipped it immediately)
For the greens, the tranquil amulet dropped for my 2nd toon just recently (level 13/14), all the other greens dropped over the course of 17 levels on my first toon.
Time: 7hours 58mins
Level: 19
Kill all the enemies one times without go back to hit the boss
blue quality (epics) : 6
green quality (rares) : 5
I got blue items started from “The flooded passage”
I’ve played a total of 20 hours. 10 hours on occultist and 10 hours on demolitionist; coincidentally it took me a little under 10 hours each playthrough. After defeating the endboss both were level 19 (was wearing a +5% exp ribbon half way through the game).
Across both characters I have 15 greens that I am either wearing or in storage and 2 blues. The drop rates seem fine at the moment though I tend to have bad luck with most drop oriented games sooooo I’m always happy with more stuff
11 hours, level 16.
I have two epics currently equipped, and have found 3.
They are the berserker’s cowl, shadows grasp, and a pair of boots that I think was called molten walkers.
I have 3 rares equipped and have found 5 or 6.
I think the drop rates are fine, but I would suggest that you increase the chance for rares and epics to drop off of elites.
My Occultist (22) has found about… 5-6 blues, and I don’t even know how many greens anymore. Her whole kit is green at this point, and I’ve donated the warden’s green mace to a few other characters.
I’ll go look and clarify in a bit, but it feels like a decent level.
Blues:
The Slugger (3)
Flamebreaker (2)
Guardsman Helmet
Berserker’s Cowl
Mistwalker Leggings
Dementia
Warden’s Seal
I have 22h according to Steam, across two characters. One is level 19, the other is almost 19, and I’ve found 10 green, and 7 blue items total. I’m also NOT counting the green amulet you get as a quest item reward.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think the drop rate is a bit too high, lol.
I have found 5 blues so far, and a similar number of greens. This is across 3 chars. my lvl 18 has finished the game and only found 1 blue and 3 greens, my level 14 has found 3 blues, and a level 9 char has found 1 blue. not sure about greens for these chars, I may have vendored some :o
I’ve played 2 characters through to the end of the Alpha - straight run through
Character 1 : Commando (level 19 on finish) 7hr 40 mins (with a few restarts due to crashes and an invis bug)
Blues: 4 - 2 from boss monsters and 2 from The Warden
Greens: 7 or 8 ?
Character 2 : Soldier (level 19 on finish) 5hr 40 mins
Blues: 1 - from a boss monster - however The Shamblers bounty was bugged and didn’t drop any items when I shot it, took a screeny
Greens: 6 or 7 ?
Some notes:
After boss running The Warden: his Green Monster Infrequents drop too often: I got his green shield first go on my 2 chars and his green mace and green shield on my Commando. After boss running him with my Soldier I’ve gotten at least 1 Green MI every second run.
I think the drop rate for his green MI’s should be lowered slightly … however I suppose the MI’s themselves aren’t actually that good, neither his shield nor his mace were better than what I already had - but I suppose I just didn’t get that great affixes.
So my suggestion there would either be to drop the green drop % chance slightly or drop it by a lot and make the items better, because atm they’re just pass-me-downs to twinked characters.
I’ve also been boss running Flooded Passage and I am so far pleased with the drop rate of The Shambler, greens and blues are not too frequent (I did 8 runs and got 2 blues and few greens as well - but some of those were from a treasure trove that randomly spawns in the Deepmire camp just before The Shambler.
I haven’t had a blue from from a creep yet, or a container.
Blues:
The Slugger - boss run
Molten Walkers - 1st playthrough
Shadow’s Grasp - 1st playthrough
Malformed Effigy (x2) - 1 on 1st playthrough
Mistwalker Leggings - boss run
Windbourne Greaves - boss run
Flamebreaker - 1st playthrough
Explorer’s Trousers - boss run
MIs:
3 x Rare Warden’s Judgement
2 x Rare Warden’s Fortress
6 hours and 20 minutes with a level 15 soldier has given me a glorious total of 1 Green and 0 Blues. 2 hours and 13 minutes with my level 10 occultist has yielded none of either.
I’m starting to get this feeling too
Not that I mind the drops. All the yellows I’ve gotten have made for decent equipment.
6 hours played according to steam. A level 13 Commando I have now who just hit Burrwitch and a demolitionist I deleted after about 8 levels. 5 Greens and 0 blues.
I have 7 hours and have found 3 blues. All of them were found within 30 minutes on the same toon, dunno if that helps or anything. Berserker’s, Stormcallers, and then Mutiny (Which i personally love!)
Thing is, they’re not MI’s. On my first Warden run I got a white Warden’s Fortress shield and a green Warden’s Judgement mace, and on my second run both greens. An MI is an upgrade to a boss’s regular item, for example:
The Warden’s regular items are both whites.
You can get them with green (rare affixes) but that does not make them MI.
An MI version of either the mace or shield would have a different name, so from Warden’s Judgement it would become “Warden’s (insert judgement simile here)”.
Currently I am not sure if the Warden has MI versions of his regular items, though I have heard of an item called “Kreig’s Cleaver”, which - while I am pretty sure it does not replace the Warden’s Judgement - has a higher chance of dropping from the Warden, though I believe it can also drop in the regular loot pool (meaning you don’t have to farm the Warden for it).
The skies opened and the loot hath rained down upon my soldier!
About level 17.5 (almost 8 and a half hours in) the greens started dropping fairly consistently and in less than an hour three blues appeared, all from monsters. That was right about the time I ran into my first hero (or whatever the ones with stars are called, I always forget) monsters.
Gotta say, the armor and weapons sure have a nice look to them. Even the normal ones. It all fits so nicely with the rest of the game.
