Amarasta’s Quick Cut says it’s a three-hit attack; does each hit calculate for a critical hit independently or does it only calculate once per proc so that either all hits are crits or none are?
Critical hit “roll” is rolled once per attack. So, if attack hits multiple times, or multiple enemies, all hits will be either critical or non-critical (in case of multiple targets - assuming they have same DA).
Crits rolls per hit, not attack. Each hit from quick cut is rolled independently.
These two answers seem to contradict each other. Is anyone able to elaborate or refute one of these answers?
I’ve never known anyone from Rhode Island to be deceptive or misleading, so I’ll go with this answer.
Jokes aside, this is one of those mechanics that is somewhat easy to test oneself, and Nine is definitely correct. Path of Exile is the only game I know of which calculates crit once per attack, regardless of the number of targets hit.
I can verify that it is calculated per hit rather than per attack. All 3 are rolled separately according to my test.
The two answers give might contradict each other, but I would be 99% certain that Nine’s answer is correct. He is very knowledgeable about the game and it’s mechanics.
“Nine is correct because Nine.” (Not that I haven’t made the same assumption before)
But yes, Nine is correct. I believe most everything is evaluated per-hit, including on-attack procs. The only things that are evaluated per-attack are charges for charge-based skills like Savagery and Cadence.
Okay thanks everyone.
