Any chance of Thermite Mines rework?

Yeah, as I know, this has been discussed before, but with the Fangs of Asterkarn expansion now released, along with the Upheaval rework and higher max movement speed being available—changes that were previously stated as unlikely by the dev team—maybe the Demolitionist’s Thermite Mines could be reworked again? The skill just doesn’t feel fun to invest points into. They are completely static and boring, yet mandatory for the -% RR.

Maybe something like converting them into 5–7 homing flares (with a cooldown) that apply a lower value of the elemental RR debuff to compensate for the ease of use?

Considering FoA is the last expansion, this change would be really great. I understand that Thermite Mines have their own mechanical identity, but it feels like the identity of Blade Trap without any modifiers—except every player is forced to use them on Chaos and especially Elemental builds.

A lot of people don’t like thermite mines, me included… in fact, it’s a factor in deciding which support mastery to pick in some cases.

Personally, I think that if the 3 mines spawned further apart and had their individual effect radius widened so that they almost overlap and create a much bigger total AoE, it would solve a lot of the issues people have with it.

They could even bring back the deploy animation (and the onset delay that came with it) and it would feel fine (and on-theme with the rest of the Demo’s tools) if it meant not having to reposition them so often.

If they covered about as big as a maxed out Sigil of consumption, it would take a whole lot of the frustration away.

Deployed like that would also help determine visually if they are being effective as you would be able to see the individual columns and see the triangulation, figuring that anything within the triangle is affected.
