Any ideas to improve this build?

This build has only been used in Normal difficulty in Veteran

My first, and currently only character, in this game is a fire strike commando rifle build that focuses on attack speed, health, and life steal.

I took attack speed to proc my abilities and constellations. Health is for survivability and life steal is there to keep my health bar at a decent level.

Weapon:

All skills:

My demolitionist masteries uses fire strike as my basic attack with flashbang, grenado, mortar, and canister bomb for extra damage and Aoe effects. I also have vindictive flame, flame touched and blast shield for their effects.

For the soldier, I have markovian’s advantage, fighting spirit, military conditioning, veterancy, and field command for their effects.

All armor:

Some of my armor are of magic quality and rare quality only because this build is needs the prefixes and suffixes that they provide. This may be bad for me in other difficulties.

For constellations, i took Dryad, Bat, Ghoul, Lion, Turtle, and Salamander.

Any ideas to improve this build?

Grim calc could be helpful its hard to help yo without it.

But at the first glance you should drop mortar and grenado maybe even canister, take mines, put one point in BWC and take its transmuter for -25% phy dmg for target or grab war cry, also olerons rage from soldiers tree. As far as devotions are concerned you should take Rhowans crown for elemental storm flat resist reduction, and Ulzuins torch.

I have changed my skills to what you said and here are the results:

But how can I get Rhowans Crown and Ulzuins Torch with only 28 devotion points?

For start use crown later pick ulzuins to.
Try something like this: http://grimcalc.com/build/1006-QjTbxK

You can even lower war cry if you find that enemies aren’t hitting you to hard. Also you can lower fighting spirit and put in field command, flash bangs or even blast shield.

Edit: I forgot that you are two handed ranged, so in devotion path I made, you should for now drop Hydra and take Kraken. Also you can switch empty throne for owl if you don’t need resistances.

So only 22 Devotion Points are needed for this build. I could do that with 28 devotion points. But I don’t want to lose the celestial powers of the Bat(life steal) and Turtle(survivability). Any advice on this?

You don’t want those points in Terrify. Cluster the mobs, don’t send them wandering all over the map. Every time you use War Cry with that transmuter your 11 points in Explosive Strike mean zip.

You shouldn’t need lifesteal from the Bat when you’re nearly at level 70. There are plenty of other sources. If you increase your damage, you can get by with a much smaller but more consistent percentage.

Pick one cooldown-based crowd control skill. Invest your other points in the mastery bar and your main attack. If you kill things faster you won’t need all those points in Blast Shield.

Forget Elemental Storm and take Eldritch Fire (bound to Flashbang) on your way to Meteor Shower. Don’t be in a hurry to get there. Take the Hydra first.

Devotion skills like Turtle Shell can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more of them you take, the more likely you are to need them. If you focus on damage and crowd control instead, you’re less likely to hit 40% health in the first place.

One defensive skill isn’t a bad idea. But the Tortoise is going in the wrong direction for you because it uses Order. Pick up Chariot of the Dead instead, later, if you feel you need it. At least that gives +OA too.

Revised:

If you like that, I can do an endgame version later.

Like Marney said you dont need Turtle or Bat. Dont sacrifice 5 devo point to get some life steal when there is much easier ways to accomplish that, and turtle shell isn’t so good, your blast shield is 10 times better.
This is how your end game devotion should be looking http://grimcalc.com/build/1006-IrcH67
You have all three types of resist reduction from devotions (Eldrich fire, elemental storm and Viper).

Nice devotion setup there.

Though if you take out three points from Behemoth, switch Throne to Hammer, and lose the last Meteor Shower point, you could snag Chariot too:

How are you level 69 in Normal?

You need waaay more resistances. Use augments, use components, use “resistant/stonehide/impervious” items.

Thx
I know, but looking at his pics he desperately needed some resistances, thats main reason I picked up throne.

Hi mate,

My suggestion is

https://grimcalc.com/build/1006-GHcNeZ

You may want to adjust some skill points as I always max the skills I believe is important without considering the existence of gears…lol

re devotion, Kraken is your best friend with a 2H ranger BD and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Maxing squad tactics but not vindictive flame, putting the point in the blic although he cant use it with range weapon, maxing bwc but not going for olerons rage, not a single point in temper and fighting spirit,…you should reconsider imo.

This is now my new skill tree:
http://grimcalc.com/build/1006-isoJkL

I dropped mortar and grenado then lowered vindictive flame, temper, flashbang, canister bomb, markovians advantage, and terrify

Then i took brimstone, BWC and high potency, thermite mines, and concussive bomb

For devotion i took Hammer, Scholar’s Light, Solael’s Witchblade, Jackal, Lizard, and Kraken

Anything else that i should take note?

Hmm, why lower Vindictive Flame? It gives you mobility, attack speed, and cast speed, all prime considerations for your build, and a minor stun. I’d keep that at 11/16 at least, at all times, and shoot for 16/16 with +skills at endgame.

Don’t really understand the Thermite Mines.

I’m just trying to follow what the others are saying. With what you said, i lowered mines and dropped BWC (i’m not comfortable with its projectile speed).

Just a question, does temper affects my abilities or does it only affects my allies?

Edit: Also do you know any alternative life steal on attack to bat? I feel very vulnerable without the bat.

Temper does affect you.

If you’re going all the way up to Meteor Shower, the first and fourth stars of the Reaper constellation give a total of 9% ADCTH.

Does the 9% ADCTH of the Reaper affects all attack (brimstone, mines, canister bomb)?

No.
