I’m looking to make a mod for Grim Dawn but I don’t want it to be a separate thing you have to launch from the actual game, and rather I would like to integrate my mod as somewhere you can teleport from the world map through riftgates or even potentially have it be some place you could walk to from Devil’s Crossing.
Here’s a way to make a so called hard-mod 2 mods its possible? - #3 by tqFan (also allows running a 2nd mod on top of your 1st mod)
-
you don’t run it from Custom Game but launch the game with a /basemod flag (from Steam setting or shortcut) which makes the mod being applied to your Normal game
-
you could technically mod game files directly but this is not clean and files are overwritten with Steam updates and this method avoids that and separates the files
Ah, ok. Thanks for the clear explanation!
One question though, if I’m not editing the original game files, how would I replace some spot in the main campaign so that it has my custom stuff instead of what the original game has?
Like say a bridge leads to a little treasure chest, how would I replace that treasure chest with a portal to my mod?
