Apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I haven’t frequented this place in a long, long, long time.
Has there been any word on upcoming masteries? I know it was discussed that they wanted to do more masteries than available in the initial release, but how did that pan out? Anything at all on what kind of masteries we can expect, if any, and when?
Personally, after playing obsessively for the last couple of days, I can’t help but to feel like the game is really missing a Sharpshooter/Ranger type of Mastery. There’s clear, obvious masteries favouring Melee/Shield (Soldier), dual-wielding melee (Nightblade) and two-handed weapons (Shaman).
Nevermind the fact that some of these feel needlessly restrictive in some regards, the absence of a ranged-weapon-focused mastery is quite noticeable. If such a mastery managed to not fall into the classic nature-focused pit, to boot, would be even better.
I’m also really missing a frost-based mastery, similar to how Demolitionist is so obviously based around fire. Arcanist and Shaman both touch upon the ice/frost schtick a little bit, but they just don’t come close to the same feel, and I’m finding it hard to really make use of ice gear - which doesn’t appear that common anyway - compared to fire gear, which litters the landscape. Something of a non-summon-y necromancer would be nice.
Anyone heard a peep?
