I want to start trying builds around this item so I can see how good/bad it is and give it feedback. Ideally I want its granted skill to be something we use all the time when its off cooldown. Whether that means making it stronger and higher cooldown or whatever I don’t care, I just think it looks cool as fuck and I want it to be good.
Only thing I could think of for this was another Shieldbreaker with a mix of Blightlord set + parts of Infernal + Annihilation. An alternative to cannister: throw BWC, alternate between Sun Spot(off-hand)/Judgement/Mines
(Sadly, the complete infernal knight set seems to be leagues behind Blightlord for resists and such. It would have been nice to use the full IK set for a change - for the proc).
I couldn’t see much potential for a Soldier mix, as the 15% physical->fire and chaos->lit is not particularly helpful in terms of physical (using that internal trauma %)
I tried to theorycraft a CD nuke caster with some other nukes and high as possible fire dmg.
Eventually I stopped, since my knowledge on min/maxing and overall items isn’t as great.
I agree that the off hand is awesome tho and maybe something along the lines of purifer/vindicator or elementalist caster with empyrion’s mercy (for the celestial presence extra RR) and maximum RR might be interesting.
I have been working on building a “wrestler” character- Warlord running as many stun/knockdown skills and gear as possible without taking away from the theme.
Judgement is basically “throwing the opponent off the ropes” so he comes staggering back towards you, and this can create some interesting interactions with other skills i have noticed, in particular Aegis of Menhir and Blitz.
Blitzing an enemy thats tumbling towards you post-judgement (off the ropes) is essentially a clothesline, and can look really bad ass when executed properly.
Aegis of menhir I consider the equivalent of hitting the opponent with a chair, and it will sometimes glitch out and “stick” to enemies if you land a hit using the skill while the enemy is tumbling or in the animation of falling down.
Obviously youll want the Stonewrought Groundbreakers for this wrestler build so you can stomp on the ground to accentuate the fake punches youll deliver :
Warcry is great for all the taunting and getting the crowds amped up
Forcewave for stun, blade arc for knockdown, theres plenty of other sources including devotions IE Trample, Targo’s Hammer, etc- could even go Stone Matron for the fist.
Clearly use a Leap augment (jumping off the turnbuckle).
Now if only they had invisible illusions for ALL equipment! Then you could fight with your bare hands in your undies like a true wrestler!
Oh, I thought this offhand was some sort of physical offhand thingies. So it’s lightning/fire now?
Interesting. Shame that it gives skill point to soldier and oathkeeper. Seems like it will be better if it gives point to demo, Inquisitor, or arcanist.
I was definitely thinking along those lines. That it should be Paladin or Purifier based given the name and theme of the item. But converted to fire callidor’s tempest would be pretty sexy too. I’ll be trying a couple builds with it mostly to ascertain how much sunspot is performing. First shieldbreaker I tried sunspot wasn’t actually that important.
It could use a bigger radius given how much good AoE shieldbreaker already has it’s like a drop in the ocean. Or more damage. Or maybe if the bolt left a pool of fire on the ground that continues to burn.
I suddenly want to test it in my elemental bonemonger. That offhand + spelldrinke + new MI inq belt giving aether>elemental conversion does sound really good.
Now the only question is, does the granted skill really worth it or not. Lol
The Mythical version does have +1 demo. I had pondered using the vanquisher? set with Calidor tempest but never bothered to look closely at this. Or even SR set may work.
Imho, the soldier bit doesn’t mesh. I’d say maybe switch to +1 shaman from soldier to take advantage of lighting stuff or change the conversions so Soldier can see better benefit or add elemental RR to some soldier skill. (do-it-all Inquisitor is still low on my love list, so…a little bias from me against adding it into the mix.)
