Archmage Aleksander Tips to defeat without dying?

I’ve been fighting Aleksander recently, I’ve only managed to kill him after he kills me first. The last time I fought him, I was taking massive DOT from 9 sources, I used Blade Barrier, Pneumatic Brust, and a health pot yet it still killed me lol.

I know he’s got a lot of Reduce Resistances attacks, but do they stack? All my resistances are overcapped by at least 30% (Aether is 83% with 35% over). I’m using a belgo blademaster build with 15k health, 3000+ OA/DA, and 100k DPS.

Any tips for fighting him?

Runeguard Greaves proc helps considerably against him. Are you using War Cry or any damage reduction skill? What’s you physical res? His meteor deals really high physical damage for an enemy skill. He also deals elemental damage.

And yes, he can stack RR. His PRM shotgun is flat RR, while his meteor is % Reduced Target Resistances.

I see, I should try to be more mobile. I was trying to facetank him. My physical resistance is 25%.

With a decently built Belgo BM you should just cut thru whole content really. Care to post your grimtools? Alex should be down in seconds - he is a human target.

Avoid his meteors, cap your elemental and aether resistances. His meteor is the strongest of his skills, since it deals physical damage and there’s no solid way to mitigate that damage type (because not all characters manage to get 2.5k+ armor or 30%+ physical resist). It’s good to overcap your resists by 30, since he reduces them, also has a percentage reduction to resistances if you get hit by his meteor.

Avoid his meteor. Count to five. between casts. When he teleports near you walk away a bit or he shotguns you

Pretty much this.

His meteor can be difficult to dodge at times. He has a habit of predicting where you are about to step. It one shots my non tank toons.

His other attack to watch out for is his “boomerang replicating missile nova”. He will cast it then Teleport next you and pull the replicating missiles back towards himself (causing a shotgun effect). Most endgame builds should survive this. It’s really the meteor which causes problems.

Aside from this he is actually relatively weak. He can be bursted down quickly with certain builds.

Yes you need to more mobile, if you want try to facetank him, do it under the roof to avoid being hit by his deadly meteor like this :

And like others said, watch out for his shotgun attack, try use War Cry for Damage Reduction, and use Blade Barrier wisely for incoming Meteor

by experiece …it helps to destroy the aetherial crystals around him first then engage . I play a warlord with 5k armor and and 48% phys resist as well as overcapped all resist by 40 % and i still die sumtyms.

You can use teleport skill to dodge it, such as Displacement.
