Tbh idk, never tried it, but I doubt they do (they shouldn’t according to game mechanics but who knows maybe there is a bug). And even if they do stack, casting two of them would be mayor pita
that’s a very good point. on top of being much easier to kill than melee (despite not having higher dmg), casters have ENTIRE EXTRA STATS that melee can completely ignore - mana/mana regen.
% based do stack but it’s not additive. multiplicative
Casters need to wear caster armor in order to sustain mana costs, which leaves them very vulnerable to melee attacks. Melee physical bosses can’t be CC-ed and they process to charge and rape casters.
I hope that I can just post once and the people involved will wise up and stop. No need to apologize or reply to this post. Just behave, and all is good. If you are really unclear on where you crossed the line, I put the relevant section in RED.
Again to clarify, I’m not shooting down your idea, but merely asking you to keep an open mind as to why they wouldn’t want to implement your idea. The band-aid fix style of it is reason enough for a developer to not simply implement it just because it’s worked in other games.
If you don’t get it then I’ll just accept that and move on, but it’s not me just shooting down your idea because I don’t like it and I’ve provided plenty of basis for my reasoning.
To reply to OPs original question - yes, casters/RDPS are viable. And sadly, they are not as good as melee. More difficult to build, needs a lot of bis items to work. HP bar is a bit more yo-yo’ish due to low armor from caster/non-heavy armors.
My suggestion would be get a crucible farmer going and get all the items you want for your caster/rdps Will save a lot of time this way.
Or find a coop friend who is melee and can taunt while you unleash hell.
Cheers
Edit: Why no teleport spell on arcanist? Valdaran does it.
It’s not exactly an unbound teleport, the one is a position swap and requires a target, and another one is basically an instant shadow strike and requires a target as well. I imagine unbound movement skill is hard to implement because of all of the cases when it might be used to access areas you’re not supposed to.
