Are current items changed if they get updated in a patch?

For example, I just read:

  • Shambler’s Heart: added 16 Physical damage modifier for Flame Touched

Will existing items like this be updated when this goes live?

Yes, all the changes will be applied to all the items you already have.

An exception would be, if Crate removed an affix from the loot pool. Any old items with it would retain it.

the follow-up question would be, are the rolls of updated items changed as well?

For example, let’s say I have a Stalwart Shambler’s Heart Of Celerity, with 8% DA and 7% cast speed.

When the item is updated, will these stats be rolled again or retained?

Usually if the base stat of an item or prefix changed, it will be changed.

wait, so does that mean if you have a “perfect” rolled item, patch update adds/alters 1 flat dmg value; and the entire item’s set of stats rerolls, potentially giving you crap - changing a good item to bad?? @_@

I believe so. One of my Inashkor Head conversion value was changed to 51% from 48% when they add the physical AAR mods several patch ago.

So since only the base item is updated and not the prefixes, the prefix rolls should stay as they are. That’s good to know.

I’m glad that I don’t care too much about rolls if it isn’t a build that I’m currently playing. I don’t really wanna know how many of my old characters who had awesome damage rolls on 2Handers now have really bad ones :sweat_smile:
Then again, maybe some of the items that I stashed away have now exceptionally good rolls… :thinking:

knowing how RNGesus favours me, i’m positive all my conversion rolls got just rolled below having 100% combined :rofl:

What if after a patch you GDStash an item with the same seed it had before the patch :thinking: ?
I wonder if it then has the same values for old affixes or those values are dependent on each other.
