Are "on attack" devotions good in and of themselves?

yes there is, heck you could say it’s one giant ST fight as you try to pull as few mobs through the chunks too as even trash become lethal

only if you are dealing with a boss, and in an area where you can do that
several boss fights in MC are solo fights, and SR too, as you generally dont’ wanna full aggro the entire boss room

like it’s not even a discussion, you might “feel it’s awesome” in the parts of MC you’ve done, and it’s awesome in Cruci too, but for the other general fights, it sucks, because single target
heck try that shit on morgo or sharzul in MC and you better pray it procs on the very first tick

So you basically say: “yes, but no!”

I need to get into shattered realm again… just building a character for it recently, then maybe…

Are there areas where I can’t? Worst case is running in circles like an angry chicken, I remember!?

Yes, but No! As you said above!

Wrong. Aaaand I remember to have said it to be a SUPPORTING Skill, not the main skill…

Doesn’t have to. Other stuff has procced already giving this one the time needed…

He’s not even a BossBoss!? Nevva had any issue with him, what makes him dangerous, what do I not know?

no, i’m saying the game has different aspects, and depending on which of them you tackle you should “prep”/set up accordingly, ie SR is chuck full of ST fights,

almost sounds like you never played MC or SR,
there are plenty fights in MC where it’s a solo boss fight, and it’s not every boss fight in SR, or other places, where it’s potentially a good idea to just start running headless round while you desperately wait for 1/4proc per sec - hence why people mention it could be bound “better”/more considerate if its mechanics

no

doesn’t matter when the proc is bound to it, then that’s all that matters in that connection

it was an example of a ST fight - and if you think he’s that easy you’ve probably never fought him on Ultimate before you were proper kitted out, most early or fist time encounters don’t like him because he can hit like a truck

got the feeling you’re trying to be obtuse on purpose, like a kid on a sugar high going “nananananana” trying to “but what if” every line in a discussion, without ever addressing what’s going on or being on point just to stay in perpetual loop of attention

Only if you actively separate the bosses from each other, I take it?

Not soooo plenty, I think. And as I said, especially in MC (!!!) there is no place where you cannot play Chicken run. Or give me some examples, I don’t remember one!

Almost ONLY MC, I am not too fond of Arena modes, but I have to check on what you people describe, so I will take it on the next weeks, when my current build feels ready…

Did I say anything different? I just think the Widow/Corruption Combinations WOW from my playstyle point of view. And, that is important: not everything seen as Optimum IS Really the optimum, usually players forget to consider a lot more parameters…

yeees, and it works out fine. Test it, I recommend that!

Weeelll… as I remember he is very slow, too slow for my chicken. And with Scales in the build, he more or less often hits himself… so it seems to me. But I have only taken him on 4 or 5 times on highest levels, cause I rarely play that far, have to test other/new builds you know…

Wrong feeling. I have the feeling yous guys way of thinking is VERRRY … narrow… you don’t take into consideration ALL aspects of an(y) situation. But do as you please.

And you all (ok, most, not all) nead to read a lot more thorough.

Aether Corruption is nice procer but I would put it on Widow only if it’s piano caster without predominant attack or spell. Arcane Bomb have some CDR and since Corruption can cover the whole screen, you use precious RR skill on trash mob, who’s is gonna die fast anyway.

As rule of thumb, almost always bind - RR to devotions to your auto attack/spammable spell. Maybe only exception will be if the RR is spreadable skill, there’s good interaction for example between Ravenous Earth and Rattosh.

For Corruption, I like it on Imp’s Aetherfire, boosts AoE significantly.

Fully agree, with one additional point: the SPREADING of arcane bombs, which then apply their RR to anyone near. I see that as a huge boon. What do you say?

Imp is a good Idea though too, to be sure.

My spam-spell ist usually CoV- BP-Sigil repeat ad infinitum, while running around the enemies in circles, making sure they mostly stay in the Sigil-vicinity, BUT all have better fitting procs on them, so…

As I dais, Corruption-Widow is a wonderful support combination.

I actually had it the other way around before, and I changed it because I was getting better results this way.

Obliteration hits 3x per second, but WoP hits numbers-of-enemies-on-screen per second, which is usually more than 3.

I’ll give it another try though, just to be sure…

Anyone near that’s the thing of Arcane Bomb. It have small radius of impact, while the spell itself cover the whole screen. I have tested this interaction on Stun Jacks spam Vindicator and Savagery build with no CDR, both times putting Widows’ on main attack lead to better Crucible results. I can only assume but for other game modes will be better too.

I try having healing devo (Bat / Eyes) on my main attack but only if I still can proc RR fast and with 100% uptime. Some examples:

  • on a Pierce caster I could have Bat for great healing (maybe even Living Shadow when in Main Campaign) on Chillspikes and Assassin’s Mark on Blade Spirits

    • average application time might be a bit slower but in Main Campaign it’s not a biggie and after that Mark is applied forever anyway thanks to long duration

    • however in Crucible I’d start with Assassin’s Mark on Chillspikes and only swap the bindings if I had trouble surviving

  • on a Cold DW Ranged I had Rumor on Silverbolt with basically 100% chance every 3s so that I could have Bat on Beronath

    • not only Rumor spreads but also has 4s duration so I was not losing much if at all. Well 1 more skill to cast is a cost

    • I was immortal but not sure if this was necessary because I already had 20% ACDTH iirc

  • on some Winter King’s Might build I had Bat on it and Rumor procced with CD 1p Phantasmal Blades

But it’s rare when I can and need to do it.

not sure if I got you. even if the range is small, when Corruption almost guarantees that all 6 Bombs are up all the time…

Anyway.

I will have to test it in SR soon enough.

At 100% cast speed. Plus it’s not a single target skill. It got pretty solid AoE as well. The only problem is that you aren’t using it when you’re moving. And WoP is active pretty much always.
