there once was a 2D MMORPG called Dark Ages. There was an ascension altar.
Now if you take the altar and turn it into an object such as a weapon, pet or piece of armor maybe shield. and have that constantly upgrade with item gems or orbs that drop or even just experience, you could have it evolve into many things.
Even graphically.:furious:
