Attack Speed - help needed

Could someone point me to a current explanation over attack speed? My 2h bone crusher has more AS and a higher base AS than a 2h gun I tried, but I burn energy much faster with the gun. It also appears to attack much faster.

Further, with the 2h mace I have 193% AS, but the sheet shows and APS over 3.5. There’s no way I’m swinging that thing 3.5 times a second. The dps counter does not match up with dmg*aps for savagery.

I can’t seem to figure this mechanic out.

Use the stopwatch function on your smartphone and count how many times you attack over 20 or 30 seconds. This will give you more accurate and precise data to analyse.
