Theorycrafting a new infiltrator with 55% pierce to cold conversion.
Which of these 2 auras do you reckon is better?

Aura of Censure will give you % Elemetal RR which is nice, but you’ll likely has lower OA.
With Aura of Conviction you’ll get more OA and Physical Res.
I’m still testing DW Cold Infiltrator with Deathmarked set.
Since I prefer more OA, I choose Aura of Conviction as Exclusive Skills
Aura of Censure for me because you can stack OA through other means such as devotions and items.
Aura of Censure gives constant elemental RR and fire damage which can’t be evaded.
Aura of Censure indeed nice if we want more DPS from RR.
But in term of survivability, Aura of Conviction is better :
In my build below I can reach more than 50% Physical Res with Full DM Set :

Actually in the beginning I want to take Aura of Censure as my Exclusive Skills.
But seeing OA is too low with DM Sets, make me change to Aura of Conviction.
Is Aura of Conviction better?
Not really, it’s just has better defense and nice additonal OA + DoT Boost
If you have nice OA gears and want go more DPS via RR, Aura of Censure is suitable for you (But you’ll have less defense)
It’s different.
I’d never play my purifiers or elemental FoI builds or rune builds etc with anything other than censure
And there is now way Dot is better with conviction if you can swing the OA with censure
But what do you want to build? If it’s cold SS then conviction.
Censure provide super-convenient RR reduction, AoE trahs-cleaning dmg and godlike dmg reduction.
Conviction only add a small amount of dmg and %phyz resist. %phyz resist can be good if you manage to stack a lot of it.
I think Censure is light years ahead for Coldfiltrators.
Well of course Censure is better for any Elemental Builds (including DoT).
But in term of defense, I feel Conviction is better when I tested several times in fighting Lokarr and John Bourbon Clones.
Also with my current setup and Full DM Sets, I just feel my OA is bit too low, thats why I take Aura of Conviction for more OA and Defense
I post the full version in different thread
unless you stack enormous amounts of phys res(like DM infiltrator who can have 60%), 20% reduced monster dmg aura is gold in 150-170 cruci
Censure is autopick for elemental. I think Crate did a good job with the recent buff which now clearly separates the builds that will use conviction or censure. Censure for elemental and conviction for pierce/any other build that doesn’t have exclusives from another class.
I agree with Ptirodaktill. I’m currently using an Elemental caster Deceiver (actually quite similar to Superfluff’s build but different skills/devotions) and I’ve played around with both but considering I have to be within 4m to gain most damage output, Censure provided the most benefits especially if you can overcap it to increase the % damage reduction/% Ele rr it provides (it gives me a constant 22% damage reduction and -37% Ele rr effect in a 7m+ radius). Bear in mind I also have 26% phys resistance helped by Blood of Dreeg.
You can use another source of reduced monster dmg, as they don’t stack.
Sadly SS infiltrators (cold and especially pierce) have pretty shitty OA.
Have petter OA with cold FOI infiltrator+censure than the above

3k OA is not a problem for codfiltrators. With support from Haggard and stormbox onepointers its more that enough .
Was talking about SS and 3K OA is shit for that
See DM Full set bonus :
Deathmark’s Shadow
It gives nice phys res bonus.
Also very nice for WH since WH has phys res from Aspect of the Guardian
In my case, when I tested the Coldfiltrator build to farm Lokarr / John Bourbon Clones, Aura of Conviction gives more safety reason
I’m surely change it to Censure when fighting other enemies… ^^
So again, I’ve been toying around with the concept of using Rune of Hag-whatever in weird, and wonderful ways. Another W.I.P I’ve cooked up over the past week was this: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/O2Gpbk6V
However, I feel that the toon is too squishy and was wondering if more phys res might fix the problem. Am also considering running aegis in the relic slot.
In short, the build revolves around using (1) RoH as nuke whenever it’s up, and (2) Making full use of LA’s flat damage and simultaneously bypassing the crappy attack animation of 2H weapons by using a spammable spell.
Don’t forget that a Deceiver can get 18% physical damage reduction with only two points.
Right. People forget that cold builds often take Soulrend and/or purple Alkamos rings, which can reduce the value-added damage reduction from Censure by as much as 12%, depending on OA.
